Hi BigMummaF - Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Having re-read my post, I think I was a tad harsh. Trouble is, that's me all over. Never been known for my charm and tact, ask anyone in our family , 'fraid it's too late though, I'm far too old to change now, although I do appreciate the fact that this is a very friendly thread and that I should not be overcritical.

BTW what's happened to all the blokes, I'm sure we had a few, can't remember their names, where have you all gone.

NSD for me today but am having a groceries delivery on Wednesday which will last well into June.

Razra love your photos, keep us up to date.

Welcome the Newbies, you'll love it here.

Cheerio for now, and good luck

    Love the FM

Hi Mike, you know, I've just re-read my post and I came over a bit critical too. You know, I think we think things in our head, but when we write them down, they don't have the 'voice' element in them, you know, the little laughs or sarcasm that just doesn't come over in the written word (unless you're REALLY good at writing). I also tend to write as it pops into my head, not always a good idea either:rotfl:

I think we should all agree to accept that no-one on here means anything hurtful when posting, and if it comes across that way, they didn't mean to but were just putting their POV across - that way, no-ones feelings are hurt.

Anyway, off ANOTHER soapbox - I really need to get on with some work:p

before i start, i have to ask....what does FM stand for? Furry Monster? Funky Monkey? Foxy Momma? :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:

    anyway...morning all
its a lovely day here, looks like we'll be getting the rain after you lot have had it

had a good morning, for the start of my June challenge....went to Mr T's and used £8 of vouchers, so my shopping only came to £2.83 :j

i've got about 8 pints of Mr S's milk in the freezer, cos i'm trying to use up my vouchers before Friday, so hopefully if i can cram 'em in the freezer, by the end of the week there should be about 20 pints ;) we go thru 2 pints a day, and thats even with watering it down....what they don't know doesn't hurt 'em :rotfl:

my grans just given me a couple of fresh pears this morning....apart from juicing them, is there anything i can make from them? wasn't sure if they could be stewed, and maybe make a sponge that can go on the top? can you stew pears?

had my brother round this morning, and he's trimmed all the privet hedge for me......thank goodness....it was taking over the garden! all my veggies seem to be doing really well....i'm dying to stick my hand in the sacks, but i have to wait till the leaves flower and die....i'm so excited :j

right, better get the washing hung out while it's still nice out there. hope you all have a good one xx

went over board at asda yesterday (oops) decided the queues were so bad i might as well get next weeks freeze ables while i was there so now spent 1/2 of next months budgets was well as bumping the last of this months budget way over the target. Spent £17.55 on the last of this months shopping and do not need anything else now.

so my final spend of the month is a whopping £304.19p = £19.19 over budget :(

hope everyone else has better luck xx
    Still Trying :o

    Hi folks

Not been on much this month as have been poorly and also trying to cope with a new job so have been vegging out in front of tv a lot(or sitting in the garden when the weather has been nice enough.

Am declaring for May today at£268.64 which is £18.64 over budget however their are reasons for the overspend in that I have been diagnosed as having a wheat intolerance so have been adjusting my diet accordingly-if you thought ordinary bread was expensive at the mo you should see the price of wheat free bread!

Also did quite a lot of entertaining this month as well so am happy with the amount spent-will try for £200.00 next month as it's only four weeks and we are away at least one weekend.

Well done to everyone who has kept within budget and commiserations to those who haven't-better luck next month!

    Hiya Grocery challengers.:D

Can anyone help, I've just discovered that my staple purchase of 1 kg bag of smartprice long grain rice has just gone up from 43p to 95p  Overnight doubling. This is going to hit my challenge quite hard.

Tesco value range has done the exact same thing,

2 weeks ago morrisons still had 1kg rice for 43p in their value range. Can anyone who's been there recently remember if that's still the case? It'll be a disappointing false economy for us to go all the way there if they've hoiked their price up too :o

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer!

    Weezl x
