Had my main monthly shop delivered last night, loads of basic stuff - although the price of the rice was a mega shock. Had I been instore I don't think I would have bought it, but unfortunately with online shopping you haven't much option. The white rice had doubled in price since I put it in my trolley, yet the brown had stayed the same. If I had been in the shop I would have bought brown not white. Too late now anyway.
You can return anything you're not happy with to the driver. I always check the list and the substitutions before the driver has left to make sure I'm ok with them. If there's something that you dont notice until the driver has gone you can always phone customer services for a refund - even if its not a substitution. A couple of weeks ago they sent me 4 bunches of bananas instead of 4 bananas. I hadnt clicked on the wrong item as I always get these, but the picker got it wrong. I phoned CS and got the £2.90 for bananas refunded. If the price has gone up after placing the order you should phone them and say you wouldn't have bought them at that price. They should give a refund and you will get to keep the itemHTH
searching_me happy birthday hope you're feeling a little better (((hugs))) :bdaycake:

I am off to Morrisons to spend my £5 voucher, didn't think I needed anything but have run out of gherkins, red cabbage and beetroot in glass jars, I am very surprised at me because normally I have extra stock in to be able to make a quick salad with the jars but no checked nothing:rolleyes: so the £5 will cover that for free:D also going to M&S to see what the dine for 2 for £10 is about and then on to top tiles for some tiles for the bathroom:D
Enjoy the cold day today;)0 -
Morning all!
Many thanks to Mrs MC for the veg/salad advice!! Will pot on all vegs this w/end & plant more, hopefully. Now need some rain....can't beleive I am saying that...
On a different topic - just lately I have noticed that we routinely get charged wrongly in the supermarket. DH got charged about £3 over on some special priced Soleros (!) at Tesco; even I got charged for chopped toms instead of ordinary toms at Lidl - & I didn't pick up the wrong sort, they ARE the standard ones so should be cheaper. I know it is only pence & the problem now of course is that the cost of petrol to take them back makes it not worth the effort. Can you take the stuff back to ANY Lidl or does it have to be the one you bought it from??
DH reckons the supermarkets are suffering so they are trying to overcharge us to see how much they can get away with!!New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
denisefowler wrote: »Thanks for this, just wondering though, most of the recipies i've seen with bananas in them say use overripe bananas, we never have any bananas left in our house to go overripe, they are eaten within a couple of days usually - can you use nearly ripe bananas?
I dont see why not Denise, as long as the bananas are soft enough to mash up.
You could always get a few extra bananas with your usual shopping and "hide" them until you want to make the muffins. Or even buy some from the shop that are looking nearly over ripe just for the muffins.;)'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Did a tesco shop for £14.00 but that should be us till end of month. Think I will start my June budget at about down £20 already as the freezer have enough mince salmon cod and 'oven dinners' (crispy pancakes and fish fingers etc) to do for June. And veg! Will only have to buy milk, bread, sandwhich meat, chicken and snacks+ fizzy juice for June!Well thats the paln.
I think Saturdays can go - I transfered my 2nd job pay into a diff account so I didn't spend it and still have £70 ish left out of my main pay with a week to payday. Will have to get weekly train and a night out for a birthday out of that but should be enough. Considerin I have saved about £70 by doin the GC thats where it came from!
We were pretty ambitious, did the reciept thing in april and went from budgetin £150 each to £150 total. Did ok tho
Came home last night to find my mum had been to makro and left 16 bounty rolls 24 charmin rolls (both bogof I think) and 2 giant tubs of marg for meBut she does want me to make a giant batch of assorted hobnobs for a fund raiser!
