Ooh! Thanks for the soap recipe! I have all those things in stock and may just be trying this out soon! I'd never have thought of Googling soap making, as I thought it was really complicated and not something I wanted to try - until now. It does look quite frugal if everything's already here. :)

    Hope your headache goes soon.

  • MrsM, as we are on a theme now my budget ends on wednesday, i'm hoping i can get away without spending more than £15 over this month but next month can i be down for £115?
need to cut back to pay a bill i think is likely to be big, and as we have LOTS of frozen milk, meat, canned stuff and i have plenty of bread flour and SRF i should get away with spending even less than that

    Evening all

Had a NSD today ...and will have one tomorrow and 1 sunday :A :rotfl: ...
Have to say I have been so busy today I wouldn't have time to spend anything -even if i wanted to ;)

Have fettled right through the upstairs today..its now like a shiney new pin :j and tomorrow the downstairs is going to get the same treatment :D . .. the basement can wait a while;) Have also moved loads of the veggie tubs around outside..to try and make sure those that need most sunshine get it... things are gowing crazy out there :T I have flowers coming on my broad beans now too :j so i have covered them with an old mosquito pannel from our long departed gazebo..the black fly aren't having them ;)

Have just had thai beef curry with noodles and hm naans mmmmm.... I know it says natural yogurt in the recipe...but last weeks lot got Greek yogurt in them as that was what was open :p and today... I used tzatziki :rotfl: well it was open and I figured its just a slight variation and they were actually nicer than the plain ones :j ... amazing what you can come up with by accident:D

I have started sorting out Junes meal plan..no doubt i will keep altering it for the next few days :o .... but as long as i know what the main ingredients are and that i have them who cares :rotfl:

right i will pop off now and get some more meals worked out..have a great one everybody:D

Hi all-I had a great find today on bananas at only 15p per 1lb in my local veg shop so I bought approx 8lb of them! Going to look at the banana recipes later and make banana bread/cake, muffins and lollies for starters. Any ideas welcome. They are ripe but not really brown. Bought 6 cheap apples too-getting near the end of their life. May do apple scone with that-not sure yet.
Just totted up total food spend for this week and its £57.08(food only).
Well under budget-this month of 5 weeks is going to be less than last months 4 week total! I even bought some salad yesterday which was a bit overpriced for my lunch as I didnt want to fill up with junk food at work.
I was a bit worried that my big shop on Sat at Asda would mess me up-spending so much on the first day of the week-but not at all-it just saved me a lot of time. My shopping experience has changed this month-in the past it was cheaper to have a delivery as I couldnt impulse buy. now that Im in control and the impulse buying has stopped I tend to shop throughout the week-hunting for whoopsies!
Nearly all bread and meat is bought as whoopsies whereas if I bought it online I would be paying full price. When I manage to run down my freezer I will go to the market to stock up on fresh meat/fish which is a much better price.
No idea when that will be though-the freezer is always full! Salad leaves and basil are shooting up nicely since being planted last week. Beetroot just poking its head up. Growing them indoors though so the don't get attacked this year!
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

There's no way I have time to catch up on the last 10 pages or so of the thread so I hope everyone is ok and well - (((hugs))) to those that may need them.

Today I have spent £14.36 so I'm off to update the sig. I'm really pleased how my budget has gone this month. I think that next month I will include all my 'non-direct debit' spend for the month as I think I can do this and still stay in budget.:D So next month I'll be including entertainment and any non-food items I buy too.

mama67 thanks for the recipe will be making them tomorrow:D

sasha I got over charged today again:rolleyes: at Mr M but never knew about the credit note for the inconvenience etc like jackk said do you have to ask for it? Is it just some stores, I know about the rain check to use another time for the BOGOF if they are not in stock but never knew about the over charging bit....

spent £32.44 at Mr M but had the £5 credit voucher from the sun, went to M&s but it was not worth it, the starter, main and dessert ended up costing £10 anyway and then the wine which was £2.99 reduced from £5.99 so it was not as wonderful deal as the ad says so left it:D

We had Mrs M Lamachun Recipe for dinner tonight. It was delicious!   This will be on our "to do as often as possible" list.

Our DS2 now has the chickenpox too. This meant, I couldn't get the SUN until today, as we were stuck in the house. Husband was away, and the local Somerfield doesn't sell the sun.

Our May total is now up to £200.27. We had to plan for some extra meals, due to the chickenpox, as we cannot go and see my friend, before we go to Germany. But I am still pleased, as I am just a few pence over budget, and I stocked up on lots for the next few month.
I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!
