  • Just popped in to give Mrs M my final total, it's a rather bad £292.48  oweing to the fact that the box of organic beef I had ordered came early, that added £50 to my total. I had thought I was doing really, still I suppose it'll make next month even easier.
We have had no real rain here for over two weeks, so I'm spending loads of time watering the garden, I just hope it pays off. My potato stalks are huge now which is fab, but DH chopped down my rasps as he thought they were nettles:confused::confused::confused: . I was speechless, still at least he kept his hands off the rhubarb!
Good luck to everyone still to finish.

    LAHMACHUN RECIPE
    makes 8
    pre-heat oven to 200c/400f/gas 6
    1. 1 cup water
    2. 2tbs olive oil
    3. 1tsp salt
    4. 2tsp honey
    5. 3 cups bread flour
    6. 1 tsp yeast
    7. 1 small onion -chopped finely
    8. 1tbs olive oil
    9. 1tsp mild chilli powder
    10. 1tsp ground cumin
    11. 200g minced beef
    12. 200g chopped tomatoes
    13. 2tbs fresh coriander -chopped (optional)
    14. seasoning to suit
    • place first 6 item in you BM in the order to suit
    • set to "dough" (i make my dough by hand so use about 14g fresh yeat)
    • Heat the oil in a frying pan, add onion and cook until soft
    • add chilli powder and cumin and cook for 1 minute
    • add mince and cook until browned-stirring all the time to break up the mince
    • add tomatoes and cook over a low heat to allow to reduce and thicken
    • add coriander and season then leave to cool
    • turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly
    • divide into 8 equal sizes
    • roll out to approx 12" round -making it as thin as you can
    • transfer the discs to lightly floured baking sheets
    • divide the meat mixture between the bases and spread thinly..leaving a 1/2" border
    • cook for 6-8 mins or until just golden around the edges
You can eat these hot or cold, and you basically roll them up to eat them like a tortilla

  • Hi all
Had a NSD today except for buying 3 suns. (one for sister and nan as well as me)
I found out today by somebody who works at Tescos that they are accepting the Spend £30 get £5 off at Morrisons Sun Vouchers. And the ones that are dated for later in June are going through the tills. Don't know if this is all stores but worth a try. I'm going to find out on tuesday if asda will accept them.
Just made HM pizza and choc orange muffins for a day out tomorrow. Hope the weather is ok and stays nice for BH
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

  • Evening everyone- not sure if there;s anyone still here!

Another questions-- gosh I am really sorry for all the questions-- just had a massive baking session and made what seems like a zillion Twinks hobnobs and the Millies cookies (yes they are good!)- can I freeze them if I layer then with greaseproof??

Sosh-- make them pay you electronially- they can do a CHAPS payment rather than a BACS payment-- make sure they do this as they have a contract to pay you and a cheque is not acceptable when they have already failed to pay you:mad:

Need to update sig again as more shopping-- but its baking stuff so its all long term stuff :j
    June Budget= £151.41/£150:cool:
    10 NSDs (with teenagers !!)= 8
Reduced my overdraft a little today- slow but sure!:A
  • Edit Angelnikki your post disappeared! FF Yes you can freeze cookies, hobnobs etc fine and they pretty much defrost whilst you're munching them!

You can freeze them before cooking too.....then whip out a batch when you have the oven on and produce biscuits in a few minutes - how 'domestic goddess' is that??!

It would be my first Domestic Goddess moment but its worth a try!!! :o

    Thanks Nikki too :A

Am loving the recipes on here and the smell of baking filling the house still-- have had to hide the cookies from the cats though who seemed strangely interested!

Going to try the choccie cake tomorrow to take when visiting the parents on Sunday :T

  • I did a big shop (well, for me anyway :D) at Mr M's today (using voucher of course ;) ), spending £38.21. Bought the usual F&V, milk, yogs etc for next week but in addition have got friends coming over for a bbq on monday whatever the weather. I am making kebabs using salmon and chicken from the freezer and making my own guacamole, tzatziki, homous and garlic bread :D. I've only bought burgers, buns, cocktail sausages, salad and fresh stuff needed for dips. I would normally go to nice but expensive butchers and buy ready prepared kebebs, burgers and ribs  .

Hope everyone has a nice weekend :)

Thanks for all your support this month guys and keep the recipes coming they are excellant. I have never been thought of as a cook before but this is fun!

Chocteddy please let me know if Mr A accepts the sun voucher as often buy from them!
Feline Fantastic don't worry about asking, they are not silly questions and half I would have asked myself.
