Thanks for your help.x:A

Thanks Nessa
Parsnip and Apple Soup
50g Butter
5 parsnips, peeled and cut into chunks
1 large bramley apple, peeled and cut into chunks
1 litre veg stock
600ml milk
salt & pepper
melt the butter in a pan, add the parsnips and apple, cook for 5-10 minutes. Add the stock, cover and simmer for 20 mins or until the parsnips are cooked. remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Add the milk (it may curdle but don't worry). Blend, return to the pan, season to taste, reheat and serve!
I did mine to freeze so didn't add the milk until I wanted to eat it. It's one of those soups which is pretty forgiving (I had 3 mahoosive parsnips and 2 apples) It comes out slightly different each time but still yummy!
That's tonight's dinner sorted - got some parsnips in Mr t's reduced to 30p for 5 - ideal! thanks Jennybee and congrats on the 'bump' :TLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
Right, that's it, I'm going to have to set myself a time limit on this thread... got up with DH at 3am as he had to be in work early and thought I would go back to bed when he left at 3.30am - got Martin's email and have been on here ever since!!! knew I shouldn't have turned on the computer....:p
This is SOOOOO addictive..., been copying and pasting recipes, printing vouchers and downloading planners. It's now 5.40am and I have to get ready for work soon as I usually get up at 6am - ho hum, falling asleep on the job day today then
I've also just joined the '£10 a day for May' challenge and now have to check out ways to EARN extra money as well as save it - DH thinks the laptop has been sewn on to my extremities, he he...
 MASSIVE BIG THANKS to twinks for the Hobnobs and whoever posted the choc & orange muffins and Chelsea buns - cooked all three yesterday and DH & DS LOVE them (me too, numnumnum) - didn't have time to cook all hobnobs and have mix in the fridge for cooking today - hopefully still OK.
nearly had a NSD yesterday, but after stressful day we needed time out so went for KFC (£11.07:eek: ) and a couple of drinks to help us sleep (well, we were up early :rotfl: ) drinks out of entertainment budget but KFC out of food budget so must add that on - need milk, etc today, but hope to be organised by next week (if I sort out the planner successfully) and able to cut down and start using what is in cupboards.
Must go update siggy then STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Italian Tuna balls
(from bbc good food July 2007)
serves 4, can be frozen.
2 x 160g cans tuna (in oil reserve little of oil.)
small handful pine nuts ( I'm going to use sunflower seeds.)
finely grated zest of 1 lemon
small handful parsley leaves, roughly chopped
50g/2oz fresh breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
500g tomato pasta sauce, (i'll make my own, onions garlic toms, then reduced.)
400g/14oz spaghetti
1, flake tuna into bowl add nuts, zest, parsley, breadcrumbs, and egg, season, mix together with hands till combined. roll into 12 walnut-sized balls.
put large pan water on to boil, then cook spaghetti as instructions on packet.
2. heat a little tuna oil in large non stick frying pan, fry balls for 5 mins, turning every min or so, until completely golden brown, drain in kitchen paper (i will use a tea towel as don't buy kitchen roll)
heat tom sauce then toss together with pasta and tuna balls.
thats what we're having for tea. lets us know how you get on nessa.
that me dd up now, time to get ready for school.

have you tried the £ shop or Home Bargains for these, if you have these shops near you? i'm sure they'd be loads cheaper for cleaning stuff, and i think you can get 40 black bin bags for £1;)0
