Mandy Moo - How about sandwhiches (could watch out for whoopsie bread now and freeze it).

I am catering Morgans birthday Party next Saturday (she will be 5 though:)) but I am going to cash and carry tomorrow to see what there is.

I have ordered her cake from Costco - it is massive and only £10.99 - it might be cheaper for you to get a catering size Mayo instead of little jars for sandwhiches, voluvants, etc

Sorry I am not too good with catering large parties

    T xx

Well Ive just bought 4 growbags which is not out of my GC budget. This means I can now plant my mixed salad and beetroots so will more than pay for itself. Hubby us already sorting it out and it will start off in our very sunny conservatory which is just like a big greenhouse! Going to plant Basil too so homemade pesto coming up! Kitchen clean and half of the second eggless choccy cake gone! DS did a good job! Got to do another one to take to work but I will add some soya flour this time and see what happens!
Trying to eat less-this thread does not help with this-but I guess a world food shortage will???

I'm so frustrated as we had major power cuts last week and had to get rid of some food :( Still trying to stick to budget as well as I can and we will get some compensation which will pay for the take aways we had to resort to!

    Evening all :D

Ginger... I get my sausage skins from www.designasausage.co.uk you can get natural ones -which you need to wash before using.. I get the collagen ones that don't need washing and have a longer life ;) .. Oh and don't blame me if you get carried away with their seasoning mixes etc... i find it nearly as bad as Lakeland.... but not quite :rotfl:

Well I did a top up of fruit n salad today.... we get through it like its going out of fashion :p ...well ok I get through the fruit like its going out of fashion :D ..... looking at the lettuce, salad leaves im hoping 1 more week of buying lettuce and then i should be on to the garden stuff :j ..then just need everything else to be ready -can't wait:D

Got hubby to lump another 8 x40 litre bags of compost into the car for me... i have got through loads.. and snaffled a red currant, white currant, black currant and raspberry :T ..from a different budget mind ...oooh and the pak choi I set on Sunday is allready through :j

Have packed up hubbies sandwiches for tomorrow.. and made him a full batch of twinks to take with him.. they are playing hockey over 2 days so thought they would keep his energy levels up..
I have found that if you have a set of the measuring spoons that are really rounded... scooping out 1 tbs of mixture and gently pressing down with a fork makes lovely even sized biccies (yes im THAT sad :p ).. 42 i got out of the mix...

We have just had a chicken salad.and hubby is taking half chicken salad and half cheese salad sandwiches so i still have the 2 thigh/drumsticks left which will make me 2 more salads -no cooking why hubby is away :D

need to go and update my signature ..have a great evening all :D

When we get the next cravendale out I'll go on the hunt and make some ice lollies if I can find a set of lolly holders.

I madde the mistake then of going into lakeland and some how spent £44.00  . For that I did get a machine that makes mince, pasta and sausages for £23 (anyone know where to get sausage skins from?),
try your local butchers, I asked at mine the other day out of curiosity as i might make sausages with the kids one day. and he said he would be willing to sell me some. :D
