well, so much for having a nsd!!! It's my day off and I ended up going into solihull for a couple of hours. I spent £3 on lunch and £3.10 on a reduced box of chocs for a pressie for a mate.... at least they were thorntons
I madde the mistake then of going into lakeland and some how spent £44.00  . For that I did get a machine that makes mince, pasta and sausages for £23 (anyone know where to get sausage skins from?), freezeproof labels for my homemade ready meals, muffin case (fairy cakes are just tooooo small!), a bread loaf tin and cases and bags to keep my potatoes/onions/mushrooms for longer. Also picked up a box of 4 bread loaf mixes reduced from £5 to 99p just because the box was damaged.I've put one in the bread maker and set it to dough to see what it comes out like.
So my grocery/food spend today was £7.09
Since I've been back home though I have planted a couple of tomato plants and some more herbs. Also planted the potatoes I put in the shed to chit and then forgot abouthope they do ok! I plan today to also get me peas planted and the rest of the potatoes.

Lakeland has the same effect on meAnd while up until now I have only had temptation put in my way if I have been visiting friends and family in Cambridge or Windsor, I notice that Bromley is getting a new branch in July this year :j :j   which is only about half an hour from me, door to door, and the train fare is less than Lakeland's delivery charge
I am having a NSD so far :j I am a little ahead of myself on the monthly budget at the moment thanks to some unplanned bargain-shopping yesterday, so am trying not to spend any more on groceries this week at least. Might need milk, but hopefully that will be it.Operation Get in Shape

I had to spend £1.82 today due to being too disorganised. I made a picnic to take the kids to the park, and left it on the kitchen table. So I had to buy sausage rolls & a packet of crisps from Greggs. Will update sig in a mo.
Quick question, is it ok to freeze pesto sauce? Mine always goes off before I've used it all, so I thought I could freeze it in ice cube portions.
Ta xThanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
Managing a NSD today !!!
We are going out tonight for a walk around a local country park and then out for fish and chips but this has been budgeted for out of money we keep for family days out

DD17 turns 18 at the beginning of July, and she's just told me she wants a party
i can get a room booked quite cheap, but i want to cater for the food myself. she said there's gonna be between 50-70 people there, so any "cheap and cheerful" ideas for food will be most welcome! i thought if i started planning what i can make/bake now, it'll make things easier  so hit me with your ideas peeps0 -
Went to asda last night, bought way to much have managed to buy whoopsies ready for next month which will come out of next months shopping ( i keep a bit aside each month as i know i do this) but spent £36.52 on stuff for this month is more than i really wanted to spend and has now only left me with £10 for the rest of the month so i know i am going to go over this month. but on the other hand i hardly need anything for next month as i have very full freezers and cupboards.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016
