Had to go to the Co-op on my way home from work yesterday as had run out of butter and needed some flaked almonds to cook with the trout we're having tonight. They were really expensive (£1.55) so it's a good job the fish was Mr S's basics and very cheap. Have up dated my sig.
Unfortunately, I will have to buy bananas tonight as have almost run out.
Have finally managed to get upto date on all the posts. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hmmmm, seem to have lost track of my spends (yet again ).
However have a full freezer (got reduced mince, reduced chicken breasts, salmon on offer etc) so hoping to only need milk, fruit and veg (seem to get through lots of veg but won't complain about that).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
clair2305 - did you try the herb bread in the end?
about the banana flapjacks - yes you could use caster sugar - it will have a bit less of that kind of brown caramelly flavour that's all. in this house we often swap round different kinds of sugar (DH loves dark brown a lot so he's forever looking for ways to use it, like in custard - like with the stewed rhubarb and ginger we had last night - except I added a bit too much ginger, oops) - recipes still work out, but there's just that difference in flavour.
great that you're getting into cooking - go for it! sure, not everything will work out, but that's par for the course for everyone.
just have the courgette bread in the oven now - having gone to mr s and kept myself to just spending the 75p on the bag of flour :T. it's a great feeling NOT buying things!! (and to think some people think it's a great feeling TO buy things- of course sometimes i'm one of them too)
ok must get back to work....
happy eating,

Wow, you learn so much on this site, I normally buy long life to keep as backup, but hubby likes it as it's creamy and great in coffee, so never lasts long.
I freeze any sort of fresh milk but only if i have room in the freezer. At this time of year when last year's allotment vegies are running out it is good to fill the space as it saves money running the freezer as well - I think!!!
it tastes fine to me.Challenge 2 adults food and household.

Hi all,
Well I must change my signature cos I went to Sainsburys last night, only wanted some fruit and veg but ended up spending £38.03
The main spend was 2 x Splenda tablets which were £5.99 each (trying to lose weight as you can see) I need 1 for my bag and one for O.H'S house where I spend part of the week. Still they should last me ages as I only have 2 cupsa tea a day, maybe 3 at weekends?
Got some BOGOF's as well which is always good and whoops milk that I have stuck in the freezer, that will always come in handy.
Pleased to say NSD today anyway.
I am gonna slink off now and do my sig
take care
