Ooh - almost forgot...spent £1.83 on decaf coffee in asda - got the fairtrade stuff cos it was cheaper than branded ones. Also 29p swede and 49p for a bag of parsnips last night.

Had lovely parsnip and apple soup for tea from the freezer. very nice and ever so healthy! :)

Trying very hard to be good since finding out about bump (not that there is one yet). Am irritated by doctors as they reckon their test isn't as accurate as the ones you can buy in the shop so they couldn't confirm it. A lot of paranoia that I was going mad and £9.99 later (OH paid!) I have reconfirmed that yes, there is indeed going to be a bump at some point in about 7.5 months! OH wants to know when I'm going to stop freaking out as apparently he keeps catching me looking like a rabbit in the headlights!

Sorry off topic again! Going to try and organise meal plan for June in the next few days as is pay day next Friday so will be going shopping then! hooray! :)

    Thanks Nessa :)

    Parsnip and Apple Soup

    50g Butter
5 parsnips, peeled and cut into chunks
1 large bramley apple, peeled and cut into chunks
    1 litre veg stock
    600ml milk
    salt & pepper

melt the butter in a pan, add the parsnips and apple, cook for 5-10 minutes. Add the stock, cover and simmer for 20 mins or until the parsnips are cooked. remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Add the milk (it may curdle but don't worry). Blend, return to the pan, season to taste, reheat and serve!

I did mine to freeze so didn't add the milk until I wanted to eat it. It's one of those soups which is pretty forgiving (I had 3 mahoosive parsnips and 2 apples) It comes out slightly different each time but still yummy!

    Hi everyone :hello:

Just updated my sig. Tonight's MrT delivery came to £87.96 so my total is now £227.24 - and I'm only two weeks in! Only got £72.76 left to last the next two weeks  So I'm definitely gonna be over this month. It's OH's fault though for being so greedy

Hope you're all doing better than me :o

Will be having the first of my frozen sandwhiches tmw!
angelatgraceland - I think this thread has made us eat less in our house. We cook half the amount of meat we used to, and more veg. Less pasta/rice as well. It means we finish our meals, are full and have no waste :)
  • Hi everyone (inc. Monkier)
    NSD for me.
I do actually have an older brother (OB) and an old boyfriend (OB) but I will only be mentioning the latter on this thread- my brother is definitely not a MS. My boyfriend is fantastic at it however...
Hope OB can keep his name..?

    Have a good evening

Hi all - don't get to post often but thought I'd better update my total so far. Have spent £196.67 of my £400 budget ......but I did use around £20 of this on summer clothes for my DD from Tesco...so I really don't think I've done TOO badly!! I also didn't meal plan for my last shop - hence the cupboards are full to overflowing!! Think next week's shop will be cheaper (and better planned!)!!!!:j

Hope everyone's doing well......I haven't had chance to read all the posts!! :oSorry....xx

    Evening everyone

We had Mrs McC's tortilla wraps tonight using a batch of dough that I had frozen. They turned out lovely again and we had them with salad, mayonaisse and some chicken goujons that were BOGOF a couple weeks ago in Sainsburys.:D

Could someone point me in the direction of the Chocolate Weetabix cake recipe please?

JennyBee - With both my pregnancies I never had a doctors test to confirm. Just used shop bought ones and I suppose it saves the NHS £10 each time:rotfl: . It will all become very real when you have your first scan in a few weeks. In the meantime take it easy and look after yourself.

Looking forward to MrT delivery tomorrow evening,
