aww it went really well thanks! are you on facebook, i hae tons of pics on that..

we are now waiting for when we can move into our flat.. then its debt busting time which i really cant wait to get cracking on. ive tried to keep our spending down. did a tesco shop which came to 33 quid. but that included a weeks worth of lunches, loadsa of washing powder and conditioner, a birthday card, tons of tea bags and i also bought my hubby and bro and sister a galaxy milkshake each, as well as a ice lolly for after dinner.. those lollies and shakes alone were like 6 quid!! which just goes to show when im doing this properly when weve moved ill easily be able to cut back more. should of been in the 20 pound mark in future. which is a bit of an eye opener as our weekly take away, whatever we have, seems to be between 20 - 25!! :O

    Hiya

Sorry i didnt reply the other day, did you get my PM?

Well im doing ok. Debt has gone down a bit more, but I am waiting for payday on Friday :rotfl: Hopefully I should take off at least 1/2 of what is there, and then the other 1/2 with the end of November's pay, so fingers crossed my credit card should be clear by the middle of December, just in time for Crimbo! :D And with all of my pressies sitting in a special drawer, waiting to be wrapped, im way ahead of myself for a change! ;)

    Im freeeeeeeeeezing!!!!

hows it going with you? x

yeah im not too bad thanks.. as you know, moving in all of a sudden feels like its here... its funny. weve been mucked about for months that "moving in" to anywhere seemed more like something would happen some day. then all of a sudden we get a contract today and a phone call saying that the solicitors are just waiting for the funds from halifax and then we are more or less there.

im a bit worried things are going to crop up money wise. like, when we move im assuming we are going to get an electric bill more accurate then weve been paying and itll be something like 700 pounds or something!!! im going to log into our account later online... is it accurate or is that a guess too? coz if it is right then we are ok and should actually be in credit.

our outgoing and incomings this next few weeks are...

sitting in our account - 12,350 which includes my pay as it was my payday last week

    outgoing...

im guessing the bills for the next month although landlord has said that he will pay us back any money from the weeks were not in the flat... as youll see in incoming.. about 950

our wedding vid is due, i think we owe him 250

the obviously 10k or so for flat fees and deposit

    TOTAL 11,200 (wow)

    incoming..

    OHs wages tomorrow.. thats 1,700

cheque from being messed about with our flat for our second valuation fee which is 430, due any day now. been asked to call them back tomorrow, rather rudely if you ask me!

hopefully, the full 650 deposit from our flat

then if we move in say, the second week of the month, were hoping to get the second half of the rents money back, which could be just over 300 pounds (fingers crossed)

weve also been told we will be getting 1k back from the fee money were paying, again, because weve been messed about so much.. but we wouldnt get this for about 4 weeks or so.. i just hope they dont go back on their word

so total of all of this should be 4,080 but obviously this is been given back to us from tomorrow to next month so we wont see it in a lump sum.. wouldnt it be nice if i did!!

so ok, (writing all this def helps dont it! might have to start my own diary once weve moved in)

    12,350 (in account)

    take away 11,200 =

1,150 plus money coming to us in next month, 4,080 ...

5,230 ! by the time we get that 1k back though, im assuming payday would of rolled around again, adding just under 3k to the pot,, but then there will be bills, morgage(eek)

we owe our workplaces 3,500 in total which they gave us a buffer for when we move, so paying that back (as well as lowering my total!) would leave us something like 1,750. OHs credit card is on something like 1,495 or something so if it were down to me, i would use that money on that.. we dont need to worry about furniture as we have alot of it from family or buying it months ago when we assumed we needed it. and because of the wedding, we also have just over a grand in vouchers for argos m and s and next!

christmas being so close is a BIT of a bummer. but weve all said in our family that this year we are going to really cut back. we tend to buy eachother lots of diff things (especially me!) but this year ive told everyone im putting a limit on it and thatll be it. just after xmas though we will prob get a bit of a bonus each which would then cover the presents we had bought, hopefully a bit more!

    PHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

and my other half wonders why im always worrying about money, why im always on this site just reading, and why theres always bit of paper with money coming in and going out around!!

in fairness both our workplaces have said theres no real rush for the money back and that its obviously interest free, so maybe we could pay half this month to both, the other half in december.

like i said, as long as we dont get a scary bill from out of no where for something, we will be ok i think!!!!

right you can have your diary back now! sorry about that!!! LOL :P

:rotfl: :rotfl: I love your little diary bit!

Well from what you have put you will be fine money wise.

If a bill from your current place does crop up (my gas bill has just come in for this quarter and I owe them £150  ) then you can always ask to pay it monthly. Make sure you give them a reading for gas and electricity the day you move out, and then they will be able to work out exactly how much you owe or they owe you. They are normally really good with setting up a payment plan, so dont panic too much. xx

Re; Christams pressies - i have done mine this year, but like you I have not gone OTT, and people arent expecting much but I have bargain hunted online. Ebay is brilliant for brand new stuff, and also just generally internet deals are good.

My fingers really are crossed that you can move in soon. :D

oooh i didnt realise you could do that with a bill.. i thought theyd demand say 150 and you just have to find it... how silly am i!!

also good news for us. we got a call this morning to say they would like deposit and fee money transferred to them today so we asked how much that is, expecting it to be around the 10k mark, and she said 6,600!! we put the phone down and thought that cant be right.. we thought that the deposit alone would be 6,500 and then the rest on fees, like that 1k one i was telling you about!? so we actually rang them back to double check and explained why we thought it was wrong so they checked and they said no we only need 6,600! obviously im very pleased as we still have about 9k of debt to clear once we move out.. but at least itll not only speed things up, but xmas should be easier now...

.... wait and see though, i still think we will get a call in a few days saying " oh sorry you were right we havent allowed for blah blah blah, we need another 3.5k"

    lol

Oooo thats brilliant that its all a lot less than you had budgeted for. Im like you, never trust them until its all 100%. You should ask for all the fees etc. in writing, so that if they do come back and ask for more, you can shove the letter at them! ;)

Fingers crossed it all goes swimmingly now, you certainly deserve it!

Its payday tomorrow, hurrah, so i shall be updating my little total as soon as I can. Which i am really looking forward to :D

Yey for 2 reasons today. Firstly its Friday, and secondly its payday! :j :j

I checked my online banking and may have got a tad excited. I normally hold onto the money I want to put onto credit card in case things go wrong, but to be honest I have done my crimbo shopping, I have done a big shop, so it really shouldnt *touch wood*, so i decided to put all of the money I can (money from post office, paypal and monthly money) onto it today.

Now it wont clear until next week but I couldnt help but update my signature:

£88.14 left on my credit card! :j And that *should* be gone by the end of the month. :D

Im so chuffed! I finally feel like I am going to be debt free.

I am going to start paying my mum back in January (maybe even December depending on the finances due to it being a rubbish month!) and I should be able to say I am debt free in July 2009.

Thats also without any extra money from scratchcards, dooyoo and Quidco (of which i have about £300 to come from there alone!).

Honestly I didnt think I would clear any debts this year, let alone all of my credit card and my loan. :p
