My Shiny New Diary!!

to be honest weve been through hell and back the last couple of weeks!
we were told the biulders doing our flat went bust so no work has been done to the property since very early august and nothing still has happened to it. we decided to pull out and immediatley found another flat which is actually nice, but a little more.
because of the credit crunch we could no longer get the 100 per cent morgage deal we had with flat one, meaning we had to find a 1k arrangement fee, and a 6 and a half grand deposit!!!   ouch
weve managed to scape that together, along with cancelling our honeymoon, getting a very generous 1 thousand pound wedding present from a grandparent and cutting back everywhere...
THEN...
i check our online account to find money has gone out for things weve not bought.. again.
turns out my partners card has been cloned once again.. spending just under 600 on what seems to be just ghd straigteners
this time, the company i work for has come to my rescue, lending us 1,500 pounds to keep us a float, and ive also extended our overdraft to a thousand pounds just incase.
obviously we should get this fraud money back and because the company left us ni the dark about the flat etc, they have said they will pay a few of our fees for the new flat which stands at 1,400. but weve stil had to find it in the first place, and they will reinburse us soon... hopefully!
all in all, a terrible few weeks!!!!0 -
Oh my god, i am so so so sorry to hear about all of that. It sounds absolutley horrendous.
I was wondering how your flat was going, shame they have gone bust, but if you have found a slightly nicer one then thats good. xx
Oh no for your OHs card being cloned, thats got to be awful, and so annoying.
Fingers crossed you get all that money back ASAP. Whoever does it, really needs a good hard kick.
I hope the next couple of weeks go better for you. Not long until your wedding.

yeah we are getting there! Just under 2 weeks now.. everything is now planned and underway.. we should be moving around that time soon so we have all this money saved up now but by the end of the month, we will prob have about a grand in the current account to our names after all this time of saving, but this is exactly what we saved all this money for, wedding and moving. so then i/we can concentrate on clearing some of our debt! OH has 2k on a cc, and then a 3k car loan. im really eager to get that credit card cleared asap. hopefully by january although that maybe unlikely? especially with xmas so close!!
how was ur weekend? xxx0 -
Hiya
Oooo not long now then! And well done you on getting all of that money saved up, thats brilliant. And that little bit extra. xx Maybe give yourself a break after all that hard saving, and start again in the new year. Thats what im aiming to do, just enjoy christmas.
Weekend was good, i stripped the wall paper off in my front room on Saturday, which was a massive task. And then went to watch football with my dad yesterday, which was nice. Cant believe its monday already though.
How was your weekend?

yeah my weekend was great thanks. we visited my family in suffolk for the last time before the wedding. mum treated us to a coffee in starbucks so i gave her my 10 pound boots voucher ive been saving for xmas! she bought herself for a foundation for 25 quid for the wedding as she wanted something a bit better than cheap stuff but still, 25 quid  so i thought oh sod it and gave her my voucher :A she bought me my wedding dress and shes bought me a dyson for a wedding present and shes not got much money (infact i think it was all put on a cc  ) so i thought it was the least i could do
typically im fighting off a spot which appeared last week. lots of water (value) fruit and tea tree oil! it is now fading off, now have 10 days for it to go.
ive just blown 50 quid on the body shop site   on some pampering bits for the wedding. the devil on my sholder keeps saying well youll only be the bride once and you want to look as good as you can be.. ive put it on my own personal card which isnt joint. but its only got 5 quid in it and then a 100 pound overdraft!! so ill put the money back on it next month sometime. it WAS free postage and im also getting a free gift i can give to someone for an xmas pressie. AND as i have one of their loyalty cards i got 20 per cent off so its not too bad. its terrible - knowing im getting married, im spending more on me than anything else right now!! manicured nails and waxed eye brows at the weekend... its all making me feel so guilty (honest!) especially when i think oh everyones going to have to have something very small at xmas (as im sittnig there having my hair highlighted!!!! )
im just thinking im going to be a bride and the birthday girl on the same day, i want to look nice and then once wedding and moving is out the way, i WILL sort out our debts... im going through an all or nothing spending binge right now, knowing its the last time for a long time.. sounds a bit like how i diet

Awww bless your mum, she sounds lovely, and it was nice of you to give her your boots voucher xx
Ah that is typical with the spot. They always flare up when you really dont want them (not that we want them anytime but you know what i mean :rotfl: ).
10 days... blimey thats not long. It will all go fantasticaly I am sure.
I am not allowed to go anywhere near a Body Shop shop or on their website for the same reason that I can spend a fortune in there. Having said that, as you have said you are going to be a bride and its your birthday on the same day (yey!!) so you deserve a bit of pampering. And as for the debts, they will still be there when you are married, so you can sort them out afterwards.
Dont feel too guilty, its not as if you do the hair, eyebrows etc. all the time. Its a special occasion for you and you deserve it all.
(there did that make you feel better
).

thanks it has a little!!
so how was ur weekend?? xxxx0 -
My weekend was good thanks.
Didnt really do an awful lot, but that was just what I needed, and the cats have loved having me around.
Mainly because everytime I go into the kitchen they get a treat. :rotfl:
Itching to pay off the money in my savings account onto my credit card, but I want to wait until nearer the end of the month so that I dont run out of money (im such a panic merchant!).
I have also just booked off my last days of holiday at work, so thats all done.
How are you feeling? Excited?

very much so! not nervous at all yet! i have tomorrow off for shopping, back at work thursday and then friday off, and then 2 weeks off after that in which we hope to move which i cant wait for as i really want to start tackling our debt! the sooner i do that and clear it all, the sooner ant will say we can start trying for kiddies! losing a wage means its a lot of responsibility on him to pay everything off so the sooner we can pay off debts and have that 200 or so extra a month, the better. (and thats only min payments!)
ant has a cc with 2k on it which is maxed out and its been like that for about 6 months even though he dont buy anything with it. thats coz were obviously paying min payment which more or less pays the interest off. then we have a 3k loan for his car but he really did need that, thats 100 pound a month. my wedding ring is also 50 quid a month till feb but once we hit january, i start paying interest on it. so i want to get that out the way asap. its going to be a very interesting last few months of 2008! married life and debt busting!!!0 -
Just a little update:
I paid some money onto my credit card (nearly £900  ) and so now im sub- £1000! :j Im so chuffed.
I have another £200 earmarked for it, but want to wait until the end of the month in case I need it for food etc. I am hoping I will pay all of this off by the end of November, and its looking very likely that I will.
I cant wait, i really cant.
I still have £100 from the Post Office and about £50 from my tax rebate (which I am still waiting for our accountant to do - I have just phoned her and left yet another message  ). And then I have some money from Quidco due, so that should cover it, hopefully.
