Nope, not snails here either. Tried them once or twice but rather chewy and someone else prepared them.

I have loads of cheapy recipes from my student hosting days but the down side is the cheaper they are the longer they take to prepare. Loads of veg prep.

OK, so the inventory of "free food" brought home from OH's friend's house last night consists of:

4 packs sliced quorn/chicken type stuff ideal for sandwiches
    Punnet Tesco Finest Strawberries
    2 packs choc digestives
    box oreo biscuits
    12 jam tarts
    pack choc chip cookies
    2 fudge bars
    pack smarties
    8 thick sausages
    4 pork rib things
    4 birds eye beef burgers
    individual steak and kidney pie
    individual pork pie

def a help to the grocery budget for the next few days :D

Unbelievable that they would throw that lot away
We're not talking dodgy chicken here, what did they think would happen to the biscuits at the stroke of midnight of their best before date??

    Lucky for you however!

A lot of them are nowhere near their sell by date.....they regularly throw away tins!!!!! OK, so tinned veg is not high on my list of "must haves" but it is good for making bubble & squeak or putting in a slow cooker casserole!

And anyway......I will take the risk on out of date biscuits......after all, it would be a shame not to!!
