Hi, although L&G have tracked, they have not yet paid out - so I am waiting until they do before I decide one way or another.....however, I went through my SOA with my financial advisor (aka Pania) this morning and we agreed I should keep paying the £50 a month for the mo to try and build up some emergency savings. I don't have a credit card now, and have been unable to even get a vanquis card, so not likely to get anything "friendly" in the way of emergency money. So, if the boiler blows up, or the car breaks down, I have no way of sorting it out.....so the aim is to get a few hundred put away for emergencies..........

Thanks Hypno, good idea. The fear for me is that I am such a numpty with this sort of thing that I have no idea what I am investing in and no idea if they the £50 per mth will be going down :o:o Need to do some investigating me thinks  :p

With the markets all over the place at the mo it may well be that the initial amount you have put in will have gone down.....but you will still be quids in once the quidco money is taken into account.

I don't mind leaving mine in there for the longer term really - if I can't ride the storm of stockmarket volitility, I really should pack my bags and hide under a small stone :o

    Evening Hypno.

Sounds like a fab day for you all today, nothing like free food and drink is there :D

Good luck with the OS way, I dip over there quite a lot and find some stuff so really inspiring although some a little too extreme for me.

Have been doing fly lady (my version lol) for a few months now and my house is so much better.

Thanks doodledo - like I said, I used to be a regular on OS and it was very successful - then I think I tried to concentrate too much on being a DFW so let the OS stuff slip too much. Daft really!

I certainly feel more positive on it at this moment in time - I want to be "in control" of things for the three weeks we have our student with us (starts on Wednesday, so perfect timing) and then after she leaves we have a month before our long term student arrives, by which time I should be really back into the swing of things.......

    ......shouldn't I

I have to admit - there seem to be more recipes for puddings than for anything else........perhaps that is why I am liking the look of that particular challenge :D

Noticed that one yesterday - think a little extreme for me - but the principle is great and like you I used to spend loads of time on the OSB - did flylady challenges and storecupboard challenges. Have been pitiful lately so I may join you over there.
I really just want to eat more healthily and with less waste as I am sure that will save us money straight away. :o
