  • He forgot the lentils as well, and are you sure no snails are lurking? I think we should have a matched bet on it , that by this time next month snails will have been eaten in the Weezl household..odds on at Betfair anyone?

Personally I make it a rule never to eat anything that needs anything more complicated than a steak knife (with the possible exception of knickerbocker glory spoons :D ).

So, no snails, crab etc. Too much like hard work and the end result is not worth the effort  .

Crikey - Hypno, where are you??????? You haven't slept in have you
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thank you for popping by Acetate Monkey - I hope I didn't come across as being mickey-taking out of the whole thing - that wasn't the intention......for a start, I am rather liking the custard and chocolate pots!!! :D:D:D

I used to live in a small market town where it was really easy to get food from local sources, and the small supermarkets had fab "whoopsie" food, but where we are now, we are lucky if a "mark down" has been reduced by 20%, and trying to find locally produced food at a sensible price is nigh on impossible........I can't even get local free range eggs easily! It really narks me because we live in a farming area.......fields all around, but nowhere to buy cheap carrots and onions

So, a bit more effort required on my part, hence venturing back onto OS for that nudge I so desperately need!

Today's list reads something like this:
    • input mystery shop
    • [strike]check throughout the day for new mystery shops[/strike]DONE - picked up another visit for Friday :D
    • [strike]check online banking and mark off against "bills still to be paid" list[/strike] DONE - shortfall has been reduced to £194, so getting there!
    • get student room ready for our new arrival tomorrow
    • [STRIKE]clean main bathroom[/STRIKE] DONE
    • clean en-suite
    • [strike]conjure up something for dinner - pasta based, probably[/strike] DONE
    • [strike]Do grocery shop, bearing in mind new "OS" mission[/strike] DONE - I think I got a lot for my money, and certainly the freezers, fridges and cupboards are all full.
    • [strike]Help OH do his CV[/strike] He has two interviews for later in the week :T
    • Today is my last day in the office for the rest of the week - so need to be fully up to date there before I leave off at 5.30 - I have got things planned for tomorrow, and we get our new student, then Thursday is allocated to "tackle the dining room  " and Friday I have a couple of Mystery shops to do.
My flask broke at the weekend, so my ability to transport nice "almost free" coffee has gone - I need to hunt for a reasonably priced, reasonably sized one in my lunch hour.

Have a good day everyone x

How nice that Acetate Monkey popped in :hello: - great name, too! And I'm fascinated by the sound of apple bhajee.

Hypno, I don't know how big your flask is, but I have one thats a third of a litre - a nice big cup of coffee, basically, that I bought recently at Asda for £1.96, which has already paid for itself, and I've seen similar in all sorts of places - Woolies, Argos, etc. Hope you can find a cheapie. :money:

Your lists look great, especially the crossing off thats going on. Doctor, I feel faint - I think I have list envy :D .

I've got two mystery shops, plus some paid work in the afternoon, but my main focus today is going to be to do some gardening, since the weather's forecast as so bad tomorrow - weirdly, gardening turns out to *help* my morning back pain :confused: I'm not going to knock it, just thank whoever's watching over me!

    Have a good one.

Well, my DH just came home from the school run, and he has found rasberries growing wild on the way. He had assumed they were unripe blackberries until closer investigation.

Guess who will be sent on the school run with a container tomorrow ;)

No worries, thanks for the friendly hello (and you too taxi73 and Karmacat):hello: . I wasn't thinking you were extracting the urine, just wanted to reassure that no snails were going to slime their way towards me! Bought a tin for dum and mad once when i went on a school trip to Paris, started yacking as soon as it was on the fork, there's no chance of one going down my gullet!_pale_

Mind you, what do you do with the little blighters? They're after our runner beans big time!

Sounds frustrating to be in the country but not able to enjoy the benfits. What about keeping chooks yourself? Yet another list of busy-ness, how do you do it? Is it through hypno? AM
