    Hi again

Redruby, glad the notes are useful :j :j It's not at all naff to like Pavarotti - he was one of the greatest opera singers of the 20th century after all. Just cos he ended up doing some big-bucks concerts in stadiums, and just because he became the stereotype of what a tenor looks like (large, bearded and holding a hanky :D) doesn't mean he wasn't fantastic.

I'm going to send you translations of some of the arias :) (can't do them all, as I don't have all of them in my own CDs, but will send a few of them :))

Penny-Pincher!! somehow I missed your posting earlier. Sorry it wasn't better news. ((hugs))

Hello all, Billy-no-mates here again :D

Another culinary calamity in the Empty Arms Hotel :o Either the dear girl worked a piece of poor meat on me when she split the contents of the freezer, or, more likely, I've done something wrong but the meat had all the taste of a piece of cardboard  If I'd been served it in a restaurant, the Manager would have had the biggest b********g ever  and the sole reason I ate it was simply because I was hungry. I hear the drawing board calling  At least the peace and quiet and the view out of the window was some small compensation, as was the dish of banana and yoghurt for afters.

BD1 has finally eaten something so I'm a lot happier now as he hadn't eaten much since yesterday morning. Being a Collie, he's very sensitive to what's happening around him and I swear he knows when I'm feeling low and it seems to affect him as well.

My sore throat is a lot better atm so hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight. I'm just chilling with a brew and watching the bunnies on the edge of the forest and as I'm off tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday, I'm contemplating having a couple of nights away and coming into work Thursday morning after I've taken the BD's to the vets for a check-up. I shall retire to the drawing room, aka the driver's seat :D , and ponder.

    Man try :D

    Good evening everyone :hello:

    Huge (((hugs))) to Penny-Pincher!!

Bargain Rzl - loved that pic of Hyde Park last night. Sadly it was just very rainy when DH and I walked through it.

Well, it's been another day in that four-lettered word. Not overly sure whether it's h*** or w*** ;) The head is as omni-present as ever. Well, her picture is on her office door, if you count that as omni-present.

Like some of you, I've got a long list of things that I need to cancel. I'm wondering about cancelling my Credit Expert thing that I get charged £5.99 a month for.......... That would give me some money to add to my car repairs fund. Hmmm....... Though I'd have to look up HOW to actually cancel it, which will be somewhere safe no doubt. :o

DH and I have just had our supper of a chicken stir fry thing with noodles. Not very OS, but quick which was just what we needed!

Martyn if you have any of that meat left use it in your slow cooker to make soup then it will be nice and tender and hopefully have some flavour

just add chopped veg ie carrots onions, turnip, potato etc or use smartprice mixed veg and add a few chopped onions, some red lentils and a couple of stock cubes when the soup is done you can chop the meat into the soup or add it to a jar of curry sauce to make another meal or use it for sandwiches

Hi All! Have tried to skim through the thread, but need to read properly to work out properly who's doing what when IYSWIM!
Rotten day at school today - no real reason, but lovely headache built up. Wish I could make myself do somehing in the evenings, but here I am on the laptop again!
PenPIn - loads of love and ((HUgS)) heading your way.
Martyn - good to see your general tone much more cheery these days - hope you feel a bit brighter too! Sorry about your meat!
One day I will be organised and properly OS - but I suspect it won't happen until I retire!
    Take care all.

    Hiya :hello:

    Hope everyone is ok?

    Hugs to Smoky.

A busy shopping day today. After the school run I ventured to Home Bargains, Aldi and Asda looking for bargains. I wasn't impressed much by Asda's 'supposedly' bargains as they seem to be encouraging you to buy 3 of everything for a much higher price than they were. Never mind the cupboards/fridge/freezer are bursting and I'm hoping that I will only need to buy some fresh stuff next month.
Tonight's tea was chicken with lots left over for 3 or 4 more meals.

mrs moneypenny My parents have a tortoise that must be around 30 years old. I remember we bought him from a pet shop and he cost £3.50! The following year their importation was banned as the poor things were shipped over, crowded into boxes and so many of them died. They became quite valuable and my mum was worried that he might be stolen from the garden. :rotfl: However, I grew up with him wandering around the garden, chasing my feet and laughing at him getting frisky on a hot day (honestly). :rotfl:
He is still going strong and came out of hibernation only a couple of weeks ago and his (not very original) name is Tommy. :D They make great pets and I've even taken him into school to show my pupils. We then made paper-mache tortoises using balloons, cutting them in half and painting them...the strange things you do when you're a teacher! :rotfl:

I've only just realised this is an anagram! I can be a bit slow sometimes......:rotfl:

((((Candygirl)))) hope you feel better tomorrow
((((PenPin)))) hope it went well today (as well as these things can go)
((((Hugs)))) for anyone I've missed who needs one

After having month end friday off work I got in this morning to find everything had gone swimmingly in my absence, I didn't hear the end of it! So I said well that must mean I can have more of them off in future ;) Just 4 more days now and I'm off for a whole week :T Can't wait, not had a "proper" break since Christmas and I really feel like I need it.

I've just made my 4th loaf of bread by hand (the 2nd properly edible one!) - done with half white and half brown and is lovely even if I do say so myself. Now I need to get the white right, and experiment with seeds as OH has decided to go low-GI and eat slow-release energy foods (not sure if I got that right but hopefully it makes sense) and therefore insists on only eating seeded bread. At least he's not binging on sweet stuff (for now).

Well its getting late (for me) and I still have to make tomorrow's lunch so I'm off. Hope you all get a good night's sleep, I value my sleep immensely and struggle if I don't get enough so I have huge sympathy when any of you have sleepless nights.
