Morning peeps
Welcome Almo, PenPin good luck at the hospital today.
Well after being ill all weekend i`ve actually woken this morning and feel quite a lot better, not completely but i think that the worst is over and i actually have a bit of energy and don`t feel as if i`m going to pass out any minute, still very congested with a big red nose but i think i can live with that for the time being.
Plans today are to do all the housework that i didn`t get done over the weekend and walk the houndies. I also need to find the time to go to the local shopping centre as i`m looking for some cheap garden troughs- the kind that sit in a shallow container and i`m going to try and grow some veg in them.
The dw has just been emptied and the contents of the wm now sit in the laundry basket waiting to be hung on the line, the bm has finished and i`ve just taken the beef out of the slowcooker, time to hop in the shower methinks and get on with it.
Have a sunny Monday everyone.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

I know, Bargain!
Thanks, Martyn, for your kind words, too!
This is definitely a short post, though, because I'm in the middle of baking - I just stopped for another quick cuppa!
See ya.

Plan today to do some studying later, have been quite happily ignoring it for a week.
Have a good day all.
Jan :A xxxx
I plan to do some studying too however as i have been happily ingoring it for the last 18 months  (far too busy at work!) i have suddenly come a cropper with a very fast approaching deadline looming
I hate studying. I never liked it at school, hence why i never went to college/uni, and i dont like it now. I'm doing as SVQ which is even more boring as you do it at home in your own time and dont even get to hang out in the student bar
I think i need a parent to shout at me to get it done, sommat along the lines of 'you wont amount to much' and 'You'll never make anything of your life' etc etc etc lol!
It's not easy with a home to run, family to see to and work to go to and still find time to study. Those students who live at home with no responsibilites ave got it soooooooooooo easy!
Ahhhhh rant over

Congratulations on the tortoise, I know someone who applied to 'rescue' one - they live so long that quite often, their owners die and they have to be rehomed.
They were given a list of conditions (which included some changes to their house / garden), and had to provide someone who would take over looking after the tortoise if they died
In the end, they didn't bother, but she would still love oneYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning everyone!
Blue skies here just for today so I've got "washing-a-go-go"(hope you have too CM!)
DD has woken up in a stroppy mood today - cant blame it on PMT she's only 4! :rotfl: After school run, I've got to pop to Ilford and then off to the job center.
Mrs Moneypenny - OO I'd love a tortoise!!! can I ask how much your baby cost? They are quite expensive I think, and it's also hard to find out where to buy them nowadays?
Penpen - whats the latest on the chook eggs??
PP - best wishes for today xx
Have a good day all xx0 -

Just make sure you don't get a Sulcata tortoise, they get HUGE!!!!!
You also need a licence to keep certain breeds, including the old Herman's which was a popular breed back in the 70/80's. Some good info in the links here:

Good morning!:hello:
Feeling a bit stressed this morning and have only skimmed the thread.
Welcome to Almo
AMIE- nice to see you
Pennny-Pincher - thinking of you today
Smokybabe ((((HUGS))))
HUGS to those who are ill or sad today.
Our poor DGS 20mo is in hospital atm - he's got a sickness bug (don't think it's norovirus though) and was getting dehydrated, so DD2 took him to Paediatric A & E yesterday evening and he was admitted and had a drip put up.
Hoping he'll be well enough to come home today, though DD's friend's niece was in hospital for three days when she had it so we'll have to see. Just praying his baby sister doesn't get it as she's only 4 mo. DSIL is going to ring us at about 10.00 this morning to tell us what's happening so far - I expect I'll end up babysitting DGD at some point.
Will try to pop back later.
Best wishes

Morning Folks,
PPin, thinking of you hoping today goes ok.
Smokie hugs to you and Smokelets x
Sunny day here so we are off to erect DD's shed and put a coat of weatherproof stuff on it then take DD's labs for a walk. Made some pea and ham soup yesterday so will take that for lunch. Made enough roast yesterday for dinner tonight also.
Right, wellies here I come.
Have a good day all.0
