Sorry to those of you who have disappeared to that dreaded four lettered place!
(I know the two are fairly inseparable in some cases...)
Colleague has just handed me a Boots till-spit £5 facial skincare voucher he won't use :T so am off later to see if my fave Time Delay facial scrub is available - it always goes out of stock really quickly when there's a voucher deal on, as it's one of the very few items that works out free
Forgot to say, I saved myself about £12 a month over the weekend - I cancelled two things I haven't used for years and was stupidly still paying forOne was £7 a month I was still paying out on direct debit for contact lenses I no longer wear (I was putting off cancelling it as it included free aftercare and free eye tests, but I've been meaning to cancel it for about FOUR YEARS and in that time it's cost me the price of many, many aftercare sessions and free eye tests!) The other was an annual subscription to a website host, for my old website which I hadn't touched since... ooh, 2002
It was $99 a year, so about a fiver a month, and I was putting off cancelling it because I had tried to convince myself that I would get the site up and running again, but let's face it, if I haven't done it in six years, I won't do it now!
I won't really "see the benefit" of the saving, as it was needed in my existing budget. The £7 from the contact lenses will be added to the "pot" for dental, optical and prescription charges, and the saving from the website fee will be added to my landline phone budget which was previously inadequate. I could get my BT bill down a bit by switching to a different plan, however I'm looking at switching to a joint phone/broadband provider and making a big saving, so don't want to tie myself into anything new with BT at the moment.Operation Get in Shape

Morning all
Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) to anyone who needs them today.
Took OH to the station this morning, he's away til Wed night. I'm hoping to get some things done whilst he's gone but we'll see, have been feeling a bit funny for the past day or so, can't put my finger on it though
Anyway, i've to write a list of stuff and then go and buy what i need for my hospital bag, i'm almost 30 weeks now and with DD i was in and out of hosp a few times from 30 week onwards so my mam is nagging me to have a bag packed now. I'm also making lists of things for the new house, furniture, curtains etc we need - planning on doing ebay, next and dunelm mill online so i dont have to trail around the shops. Also room plans in case the actual moving gets done whilst i'm in hospital, can't have OH putting things where he thinks they should go - he'd just have a sofa, tv and fridge and he'd think it was home :rotfl:
Haven't decided for tea, DD is having sausage and mash after swimming and my sis is coming round so i might do a tuna pasta bake or something. And its my fave night of the week, new Waking the Dead is on and Bones repeated from last thurs (which i missed cos i had to pick OH up  ) So am planning on getting DD bathed and in bed early and settling myself on the sofa for the evening
Have a good day all

Hi all,
just got back in with the houndies and we got caught in the biggest downpour ever!
We were all soaked through and it`s taken 4 towels just to dry the dogs.
I was going straight out after we got back but i need to dry off and warm up first so i`m here again with a cuppa.
Bargain rzl - if you have sky television have a look at their phone and broadband packages, it saved us an absolute fortune, we opted to keep paying the line rental to BT though in case we did ever want to switch.

Whew, hoovered - henry was hiding under the dining table! There were beads everywhere from dd3's birthday pressie, it hurts when you tread on them! Trays of twink's hobnobs cooling all over the kitchen and a pineapple upside down made for kids' pud. Pasta bake all thrown together - discovered that if I use the 19p value pasta, cook it quickly in the microwave then chuck it in the sauce it doesn't go all soggy like the normal stuff - must be cos it's so think! Feeling very industrious, time for some of weezl's lentil pate now - oh working from home and driving me made asking what's for lunch!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

HI all - I've just got back from the gym;had a really good session there today. They've got one of those 'walking' machines (I have no idea what it's called) which was good fun. I also had to do a bit of shopping but didn't spend much because I only needed milk. The boot of my car won't shut for some reason so I need to get DH to look at that later. That reminds me that it also needs taxing at the end of the month and I've left it too late to do online now. I shall have the dreaded queue in the Post Office instead. That will teach me to forget!
Well, the sun was shining earlier on today but it has clouded over now; it's not rained yet but I know it's going to so I've hung all the washing on the airer.
Bargain RZL - we've recently been altering things to get our monthly outgoings down. We changed from B Gas to E.On for both gas and electricity and so far are saving £52 a month! We are in the process of changing our car insurances and that will save a further £40 a month and, following Martin's advice, DH has cancelled the insurance on his credit card - he's self-employed so doesn't need it. That's about £20 a month saved. I took the sports subscription off Sky - we only had it on there for DS2 and he left home over a year ago! I'm also going to change from RAC to the AA. I joined RAC years ago when it was £39 a year but now I end up paying £32 a month for four months a year and I've done nothing about it. In twelve years we have only used it twice. AA are currently advertising for £35 a year. Also, with the change in car insurances, we get the Green Card free whereas we were paying £35 a time with Direct Line every time we took the car abroad! The downside I can see will be that the higher food prices will probably eat into the savings before long!
IVYLEAF - I hope LO is better soon. It's such a worry when they are so young.
MRSMONEYPENNY - your tortoise sounds lovely. I had one called Dodo when I was a child; I inherited it from my grandmother so it was ancient then. One winter he just didn't wake up from hibernation - my Dad told me it was about 200 years old so that's why he died! He was having me on but I believed him at the time!
Oh, well, I suppose I'd better go and have some lunch and then I'll catch up with some knitting for an hour or so.
See you all later.

Hello all !
Today is clearing out wardrobe day..........six bin bags already and I''ve not done yet !!! Foster lad has 'conned' me out of membership for the local gym......I gave it on the proviso he washed up the plates he'd accumulated in his room and our stuff from last nights dinner (yes, I know I shouldn't have left it but there was something on the tele.................). I go upstairs and disappear into wardrobe..............lad goes out..........washing up still here !!!!!!!
C'est la vie as they say...............can't face any more of the wardrobe clearout today and have to look for some of my dads band playing stuff for someone...........been having such a clear out I can't remember where I've put it.........................lol So, that may well take some time.
Have a good day all, enjoy the sunshine if you can and hugs ((((((((((:o )))))))to all those who need themMary

Hi Guys!
Thanks for all the nice comments.
Consultant has told me this morning that I need to have a laproscopy (sp) and is trying to book me in for when Im in hospital in 2 weeks. As I have to come off some of the meds for my exisitng op, he suggested that it would be easier to do this at the same time. My second CA-125 test results come back elevated again, so he thinks surgery is the best way to go as we can see what we're dealing with. Its probably going to be a full hysterectomy with chemo to follow.
Have to go as we are waiting for some family to arrive. Funeral is at 3pm.
Hugs to all.

Too much of a dash to even read the thread this morning, think I will have to catch up later. Hope you are all going on OK, will read when I have time.
I'm home for lunch, been flinging the vac round. At the weekend I tried to start catching up on the housework after being ill, but still some way to go. Then found I am having visitors for a meal tomorrow evening, so it all seems more urgent, My goal was next weekend when we have overnight visitors. Decided I had better have a sit down with some lunch before going back to work.
See you all later. Have a good day"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
