I seem to have stopped receiving junk Mail from Vitamail as its been much more than a month since I have had anything from them ?
What I do and I suggest you do the same and its very simple. Next time you receive any unwanted Vitamail (Promondo), leave the envelope sealed and just place a small label covering your own Name and Address and then readdress it to the Southall address which is shown at the top of the envelope then simply pop it back in the mail unstamped. Dont return it to the Bedford address where orders are sent to as that is a waste of time.
I think this seems to have worked for me....But you just never know !!!0 -
I disagree, it's best to return to the 'order' address (with no stamp on envelope) - it costs them money to get them and wastes their time opening it.0

I shan't bore you all with the long story concerning my elderly mother and the many, MANY mail order scams that she receives...however I would just like to thank one and all on this forum who have offered some excellent advice.
I truly despair of the human race sometimeswith all these scams - preying on the elderly and infirm and the total lack of help out there from the authorities. IT IS SHAMEFUL.
Yesterday I saw my mother off on a three month holiday and hope that during her absence I can try and sort out all the crap that she currently receives through the post. She lives in Sheltered Housing and I know that she is not alone in being scammed. In fact they apparently have sales people entering the site on a daily basis selling all sorts of rubbish. My mother's friend was suckered into buying £330 worth of wine last week -
Anyway, on the SHS / Vital Beauty score I am going to be parcelling up one house brick and returning it to them - FREEPOST of course.....my Xmas prezzie to THEM:rotfl:0 -

Regarding salesmen entering the site . Is it possible to pursued the council to set up a "no cold callers" zone which would make it illegal for anyone to knock on people's doors. I know that where they have been set up, especially in "bungalow estates" which have a high proportion of elderly people, they have proved very successful. These zones are supported by both trading standards and the police. In Bedfordshire they actually assign special constables to police the zones, and woe-betide anyone who comes knocking. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
THANKS FOR THAT REPLY! It is a warden assisted place that my mother resides in. However, the warden doesn't actually do much. Anyway, I shall go and have a word with the warden about this and if i get no joy, I'll have a word with the local community bobby.0

I am a new victim of Vitamail but for a different reason to everyone else. In December I bought the house to which Vitamail's PO Box is registered and every day we receive mail from seething 'customers' and application forms for brochures. We have even received documentation from Bromley Court on behalf of a claimant demanding her £10000 prize money. I also receive mail for a related company called Padeol Limited and have discovered, through Companies House, that they relocated to Kimbolton Avenue in 2004. I have attempted to have the PO Box disconnected from my address but have been told that the customer has to request that change. What about my protection in law!
I suggest, if anybody wants to contact Vitamail, they use this address:
48 Kimbolton Road
Bedford
MK40 2NX
My final piece of advice: if you receive mail from anybody telling you you've won £10000 on condition that you order a minimum quantity of goods, put the paper to it's best possible use; recycle it!0 -
From 2004 House Prices and Transactions:
Date - Price - Type - Tenure - New Build - Map - Address
18/08/2004 - £530,000 - Det. - F/H - No - Map - 48, Kimbolton Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK40 2NX
KIMBOLTON ROAD BEDFORD MK40 - House Prices

The reason I think that Vitamail and Padeol are connected is that I receive mail for Padeol too. Also for Epitact, which is some sort of corn plaster, judging by a web search that I did.
My home is a 1930s semi and 48 Kimbolton Road is a detached Edwardian house on 3 stories. Although it's possible that people live there, it appears to be business premises, as there is a commercial waste bin at the front and the windows all have office-like vertical blinds in them.0
