    HEALTH WARNING

WE'VE been swamped with questions about "health supplements" mail-order outfit Vitamail.
It claims to operate from an address in Bedford but you won't find the firm there. Nor is it at another address given, in Hounslow, West London.
Or even at the Swiss PO Box it also advertises.
Vitamail is a trading name of a company called Promondo, based in Carros, southern France.
Why all the hiding? Perhaps because of the lies used to snare people into buying from Vitamail's catalogues.
We've lost count of the number of potential victims who have received an "official notification" from Vitamail telling them they've "definitely been declared a winner" of £10,000.
There is one definite winner. Promondo itself, which last year raked in €45 million - about £31m.
  • I too have been informed that I have won £10,000, cheque waiting for me, still nothing. The quality of the product is not good. My question is why is this company allowed to trade in England. You write letters to them, registered, etc. and yet they never bother to respond. Surely some action can be taken by Trading Standards to stop this company.

  • I agree with one of the other comments. I played along with the game
for some time not buying anything until got bored and they do keep sending mail what a waste of trees. I guess the only winner of £10k will be the company.

i would love it if somebody found where they guy lives who is doing this and went round to demand there 10k bet he would turn a funny shade of green!
  • I sent in an order to vitamail, they said that I had won the £10.000. Well I recieved my order and a cheque gor wait for it £1.00.. it is a scam, and they should be prosecuted
  • I join with other's as being a victim of VITAMAIL. I have been receiving mail from this deceptive consortium for 2 years. I have purchased garlic tablets, pain relief spray, Ginseng and Royal Jelly ampoules etc. Each time there is a promise of a cheque for £10,000 on subsequent free automatic processing, subject to an order. There have been invites of photograph sessions and reception at Bedford. To date I have received automated telephone calls informing my self of a win of £10,000 and to watch the post for the letter. I have kept all of the mail as evidence dating back 2 years. Not a thing has materialised, apart from inferior quality health supplements being delivered.
The P.O Box 1075 Bedford, is nothing more than a mailing point. What is disturbing, is the fact, that in March 2006, my credit card was fraudulently used, to purchase motor vehicle parts for prestige North American vehicles, such as Chevrolet, Jeep etc. from a motor factors in Manchester. The parts were ordered by an asian sounding male, by telephone, giving my complete details. The parts were delivered to an address in Bedford and surprise, surprise, a few doors away from P.O Box 1075, Afzaal Hussain. It was not until I received the invoices from the motor factors, 2 days after the transactions, that I was made aware. VITAMAIL and Hussain are in my mind conspiring to commit fraud. I need not go any further, suffice to say, folks, be aware of this despicable outfit !!

I have received similar mail from vitamail,They keep sending letters that you have definately won 10,000, I am afraid it is only for you to purchace products from them, this is definataly a scam. I have made two orders one of which I never even received tolalling over 50.00.Rip off merchants.
  • :j Well it looks like I am in a minority!! Had all the letters like others. I have never bought anything from Vitamail but have always sent my reply as directed on the instructions. Use a plain white envelope. Over the last few years I have probably spent at most £20 on postage. In February I had a letter saying I had won and could I send 2 pictures plus other details. Two weeks ago I received a cheque for £10,000!! I banked it quick and it has been paid so I paid off my credit cards!! Thanks Vitamail.
  • sorry to hear about your credit card being used in this way.vitamail keep sending me letters ive bought a few things, got them ok.they now say in the next couple of days i will receive my cheque.did you get reimbursed on your credit card.im worried now as i put my card details down.i do have card protection,do you think i will be ok?your the first ive read about.
  • hi,dont mean to be funny but how do we know your not someone from vitamail posing as a normal person every one else has had bad experiences.you might be trying to big them up so other people think there in with a chance and order stuff.sorry if you are for real,it just seems unlikely.we will see if im the next one to be scamed.
