Afternoon everyone :hello:
:bdaycake: to little miss catowen and mr natzini
DH and I are back from London. It's on 31st May that I go to see Boyzone Shez.We had a fab day yesterday and I felt very spoilt. The theatre was FANTASTIC last night and being a typical Alan Bennett was hilarious and very dark at the same time. Today we had a "cheap" day - walking through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and then traipsing down Gloucester Road before attacking the Natural History Museum.
If anyone is thinking of using their Tesco Clubcard vouchers for a weekend at the Hilton on Park Lane, then I thoroughly recommend it! Because they took "so long" in checking us in (ie the bloke was a trainee so it took 5 minutes instead of 2!) they upgraded us to an executive room. I've nabbed the slippers for our holiday later this year as I can dispose of them before we fly back.
We also managed to get money off drinks and a sandwich at Kings Cross having used our Bitecard. Always worthwhile.
Supper tonight will be soup and I think we'll have to try to detox this week after the copious amounts of sandwiches and pastries that we ate yesterday at the Dorchester.
Need to sort myself out for school tomorrow.Byeeeeeeeeeeee

Happy Birthday Miss Catowen and Mr Natzini!!
I still have to catch up on the thread from thurs onwards. I hope everyone is well.
I had a good time on fri with my friends at Alton Towers. I took the HM hobnobs with me and they went down very well. Whilst I was away for 2 nights OH was fine, and totally cleared out the utility room which was great as its usually a tip.
We were also supposed to go to AT today. My friend had 2 free tickets from the Sun for friday plus a bogof voucher, so it cost us £35 between the four of us. On top of that I'd had 2 free tickets for today. OH really wanted to take his DDs so we were pleased to get a sunday. A couple of weeks ago he didn't seem so keen, I think he was getting a bit nervous about actually doing it, but I talked him around and we were all set. But yesterday he wasn't so good and then was woken at 1am last night by DD1 who felt a bit sick (didn't turn out to be anything major), but he didn't really get back to sleep after that. Hence he was completely stressed out this morning, to be fair to him he was obviously bad but he really did try and we set off but only got 5 mins down the road before he pulled over and said he couldn't go. DD2 was pretty OK about it (she's not so fussed with rides) but DD1 was upset (understandably), we tried to arrange for DD2 to spend the day elsewhere and I'd have gone with DD1 but it was too short notice. So we've had a bit of a down day here, although I took the girls shopping this afternoon, and they perked up at that!
Anyway sorry to go on for so long. It didn't matter to me but the girls had really looked forward to it, plus they don't often see their dad when he has a really bad day. Having said all that though I'm not having a real moan, I can put it in perspective compared with the problems of other people on here.
We've just had a big storm, there were massive hail stones, one of the cats came running in from the conservatory and seemed very perturbed by the storm, funny really because he's the one who's brave around the hoover, whilst the one who's scared of the hoover seemed to settle much quicker.
Right I guess I'll go and make tea (cauliflower cheese). OH's DDs are with us for tea monday, tuesday and wednesday so my usual meal plan is a bit in the air (they're quite fussy eaters), I'll try to be relaxed and see what happens rather than getting stressed for no sensible reason.
Take care everyone, (((HUGS))) for you all.

evening all,
Have had a nice day, got the lawns mowed this morning, had just finished when the heavens opened, came in and put the beef in the oven, prepared the veg and pots, and made up batter mix for the yorkshires. Then took little dog out for a walk and picked up the paper, came home had dinner, and flopped out on the sofa for the afternoon. Just had a long soak in the bath, and DD has just got in, she had a ball at the wedding, but is tired.
Going to settle down and watch the TV this evening. I have a load of beef left, enough for dinner tomorrow for us all , and another dinner another night.
Have good evenings all xx0 -
Hi redruby! I'm dying to find out how you get on with those notes I made for you. You will let me know won't you :j :j
Gena, sorry you had such a disappointing day
wiseowl1 - welcome to old style :hello:
Edited to say: Vicky - sounds like a great weekend. Never let the pleasures of a stroll through Hyde Park be underestimated. Last Wednesday I had to get from Oxford Street to Kensington in the early evening, and I had time to walk. The weather had been horrid earlier in the day, and had turned gorgeous. I took this photo looking east from the road bridge over the Serpentine. It was only on my mobile, and the picture really doesn't do the light justice - it was glorious.Operation Get in Shape

How-diddly-do one and all.
Soon be the end of another decent day, and I'm looking forward to bed. I've not had much sleep for the past two nights due to a sore throat that feels like someone is pulling barbed wire up and down it
The EAH is slowly starting to feel like "my" home now. The toilet and shower are sorted so I can now, err, "go"in peace. The rear seat/bed is next and then I need to fit some more power sockets, make a cabinet for the telly and dvd player and find a home for my camera equipment and I'm sorted.
Wildlife highlight of the day was this afternoon when I sneaked out into the forest and came across a gorgeous male Stonechat perched on a gorse bush calling to all the local girlie Stonechats. If that wasn't enough, not 20 feet from him was a Dartford Warbler!! And while I was sat watching both of them, I was buzzed by a pair of SwallowsTo round it off, I'm parked up in the quietest part of the park and all I can hear is birdsong. Just ocassionally, life is good.
Take care all.

Evening Guys!
Have basically done nothing today and feel a tad guilty. OH done a lovely dinner of Roast Chicken, Roasties, HM Yorkies, Carrots, Peas and stuffing:D ...I did do a light lunch of pasta with pesto and chilli...so not completely lazy I suppose.
My helper text through earlier to ask if she could come earlier at 8am as she has an appointment, so have made a list but will be here when she arrives, then OH is taking me for a bacon butty (if i can face it)...then hospital.
I hope I sleep well tonight. I am so tired but think its just where I have alot on my mind.
We are going round friends for dinner tomorrow evening as they are having DD as she doesnt want to go to the funeral.
Anyway, Im in need of a milky coffee.
Hugs to all.

Hey PenPin
Hope tomorrow goes OK. Thinking about you.
Martyn - you sound in much better form. Strange to say we had something for a first in our garden today - a Chaffinch. While round and about it was a first for the garden list DH a birdwatcher so he was well chuffed. We have had all sorts from Sparrowhawks to Waxwings in the past!
Take care all.

Martyn, about that sore throat, I don't know it you're familiar with Merocaine or Dequacaine, but they're really effective over-the-counter anaesthetic lozenges. Talk to your pharmacist about them.
(P.S. Am hoping that the generic mention of certain medical products, and the recommendation to consult your pharmacist, is not seen as unqualified medical advice which is against the rules of this forum. Please feel free to delete if so.)Operation Get in Shape

Hi Rzl, of course I will let you know,I was going to have a listen and a read today, but OH and DD don't like opera, philistines, so tomorrow when they are at school and work I will turn up the volume and read the notes, I must admit I have not listened to the CD's at all today, and have missed it
Thanks Again for taking the time to do that
