OS - Sunday 27th April 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning

As this is possible my last post for a week or so, thought I would start you off. DH still snoring, first coffee nearly finished. Washing as up to date as I can while out with the 'van. We are moving back to France today, to stock up on essentials:rolleyes: . Not aware of any more wi-fi sites we will be on before we get home after the Bank Holiday. We have been really lucky with virtually no rain so far, though I think out luck is about to run out.

(((hugs)))) to all
Take care - DG

  • Morning donny-gal and all those to follow. Have a great time in France, we were in Paris last weekend but found it very expensive with the pound sinking against the euro. I love France though, it's so beautiful and the people are lovely.

Cloudy but bright here this morning, I'm off for the day to a school reunion with some old friends (luckily we've been keeping up for years so no nasty shocks in store :rotfl: ). Looking forward to catching up and a nice lunch in ASK.

Right, will read last night's threads now but in the meantime hugs to PP, Smokey, Martyn and anyone else in need.

    Safe journey d-g!

Good morning Donny-Gal and Mrs Flittersnoop! Donny-Gal - glad you've avoided the rain so far. Have a great trip back to France. We're trying to plan our next trip there but DH's work has really picked up and he doesn't want to turn any of it down! We're aiming for some time in May but that's wishful thinking, I think!

(((Hugs))) to Smoky and the LOs. Smoky - I hope you are managing to get some rest.

(((Hugs))) to all in need of one - there are a lot of poorly people on here at the moment.

Well, I was late going to bed because we stayed up to watch 'American Pie - The Wedding' which I thought was extremely rude and extremely funny! I think I enjoyed that one more than the previous two. My DH was in tears of laughter for most of it!

Anyway, I can hear him getting up so better put the kettle on - see you all later.

    Morning.

Wet here this morning. Looks like rain will be here for a few days, just when we need some warm and dry weather.
Church this morning and then a quiet afternoon. All the kids are either working or out for the afternoon with the church youth group, so we may have a meal somewhere.
Trouble is my son has a dilema. He is leading the music at church with the youth band, but he is also supposed to be at Mc Donalds selling burgers. He tried to re-arrange his shift, but they did not seem interested. So I think he is just going to show up late and hope for the best.

Got the BBQ out last night and grilled some ASDA £1 sausages. They are really nice. Also did some giant mushrooms stuffed with stilton and mozzerella.

    Well cheers...

    Morning one and all.

Cloudy but dry down here and methinks it will clear up later.

It looks like another good day today. The couple who are taking "our" job arrived yesterday and they seem a great pair. It means me taking a "demotion" of sorts but in a way that's a relief to me as the responsibility of being in overall command has never sat too well with me. And it will also free me up to get more involved with developing the wildlife side of the park which is brilliant for me personally.

I've also moved the EAH to a much quieter area of the park after a long talk with the bosses yesterday and it was great to wake up this morning to the sound of birdsong and NOTHING else :j

I'm off for brekkies before anyone accuses me of waffling, and that would never do would it :D:D:D

My thoughts are with anyone hurting, and if anyone is, try and find the sainted Joan Baez on thinterweb singing "In the quiet morning". If that doesn't lift you, nothing will, and I should know. I feel like I've "rode in on a sea of disaster and I'm now riding out on a mainline rail".

Take care and have as good a day as possible.

    Man try :D

    Good Morning All

(((Hugs))) to Smokey and anyone else who needs one.

Its dull and raining here as predicted which is such a pity. Plans today are - off to farmers market this morning (a new one which has just started) OH is coming with me as we have some rubbish to drop off at the tip first which is very near. If the rain stops later may have a look around a local lazy bones bootsale as have been inspired by the shabby chic thread.

My legs are aching a lot this morning so might not be able to do the wii fit today - will see if they are better later.

Roast pork with all the timmings for dinner.

    Have a great day.

  • I've joined in with the daily thread before but then lost my OS ways and let other things take over. But I'm back and already feeling so much more like 'me' rather than following the pack, so much happier :j

We're pottering at home this morning and waiting in for a courier. Got lots of flying to do this morning and then we're off to a birthday party this afternoon. Feeling very :A as have sent presents to my mum and nephew in plenty of time for their birthdays. Just need to remember to ring on the day :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

    Good morning everyone,

Well today is my babies 10th birthday - i cannot believe these years have gone so fast!! We had a lovely afternoon yesterday doing some girly shopping - she bought some new clothes (got a lot from Next clearence, clever girl) some games for her DS and a cowboy hat!!! She has had her pressies this morning, her favourite was the chocolate fountain i picked up for £3.99 (the freemans sale, from the grabbit now board) we are all looking forward to that later today!!
We have just had breakfast of Mickey waffles, and she has decided she wants to go to Weatherspoons for lunch (birthday person always gets to pick where we eat on their day). So we will do that later, followed by a trip to Tesco to stock up.
Nothing much else planned today, will prob watch the grand prix (come on Lewis!!) and as DD got the DVD Stardust today, we might settle down and watch that too.

:hello: mrs mix - hope you will be getting better news about your dad soon xxx
    :hello: Taplady
:hello: and :grouphug: to all that need or just want one,

    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning to one and all!

Looks like it's going to be another cracking day here - didn't get herb bed done yesterday as ended up doing stuff with dd1 and dd2 and their friends - much more fun! So hopefully going to try out the local market, which is usually pants, or a boot sale and see what I can find - some baby dishes to do individual portions of stuff (though have seen some in poundland) and some plants if I'm lucky!

dd3 had a lovely party so was in a very good mood! oh and ds came home very happy from the footie, brighton won, whoopee! Plus oh bumped into a couple of old friends that he used to travel round the country with supporting the albion, far away and long ago it seems now!

Sitting with my coffee surveying the wreck that is my sitting room, don't think oh's diet is going to succeed if he munches his way through several packs of crisps, evidence in the form of empty packs and crumbs all over the sofa, lol!

Not sure what we'll eat today, had roasties, veg and some nice pork steaks (half price and very thick, from Somerfield, must get a couple of packs for the freezer), I had veg sausages! So roast is out today, was going to do one of lidl's bargain gammons in the slow cooker, but as it's so nice might get the barbie out for its inaugural run of the year, mmm, can smell it now, oh bulghar wheat salad, yum!

Have a lovely day everyone. x
