Afternoon :hello:
Happy birthday Miss Catowen and Mr Natzini :bdaycake:
((((Penny-Pincher!!)))) ((((smoky))))
It's been grey and wet so far today here in London, but seems to be clearing up now.
I am still suffering a bit from the after-effects of having slept till the afternoon yesterdayOf course come midnight I wasn't the least bit tired, and suddenly got the urge to sort out the kitchen cupboards
I had two cupboards taken up with food, arranged every which way, and another taken up with various cooking pots and freezer boxes. They are much more logically arranged now, with the utensils on the top shelf of all three cupboards and food on the bottom two shelves. Got rid of a few out of date odds and ends as well... it's so TIDY
(and so out of character for me
)
Anyway, finally forced myself to go to bed around 3am as I needed to be up for church. I don't feel TOO sleepy today - just a bit "Sundayish" - but it didn't help that there was a glass of red wine on offer after church. It's very rare that I drink any alcohol at lunchtime, as I find it wipes me out for the rest of the afternoon. Sure enough, I'm now feeling quite weak and washed out.
Anyway, I have further bust my grocery budget - I have been buying ingredients for my new Panasonic BM. I lurrrrrve the look of the seeded loaf recipe. So after a small amount of price research on the web last night, I went to Julian Graves and bought big bags of sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, then into Holland and Barrett for linseeds. I paid more than I needed to for pumpkin seeds, as I hadn't checked the price at H&B and they are on special offer  So I paid £2.29 for 500g at JG, then found out all of 2 minutes later that I could have had a kilo for £2.99 at H&B
Still need poppy seeds (not available at JG or H&B, but I know my local Asda sells them) and sesame seeds, which are cheaper at Asda. I am thinking of going over there in a moment, as I need wholemeal flour too. The queues can be manic on Sunday afternoons though. Local one is open 11 till 5 on a Sunday so no massive hurry.
I think if I go out today and get these things, I have no further need to set foot in a food shop at all for at least a week.
Anyway I am mioliering again (;)) so will shut up now and get on with stuff. Just as soon as I've finished this nice glass of lime and soda while watching the snooker
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Feeling rather tired ATM - think I need half an hours lie down!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Oh dear, another expensive day..... but I got my WiiFit
Did the body test bit to get the statistics. My body age/fitness only comes out at 17 years older than I actually am....   :rotfl: However, it is a good way of bringing home just how unfit/blobby I actually am.... So off for a swim now
Bought salad & stuff in Asda earlier too, so I can sort some lunches to take into work this week. Will rummage around as I know I have some old WeightWatchers mags knocking around, will also give me inspiration I hope.
Once the uni year is finished that will help too. However, on that front I had some good news - I had applied for a research bursary scheme that was only available to 2nd year undergrads, and there were over 100 applications & only 30 bursaries - and I got one!!!! It's worth around £2000 (new bathroom & spa break) but means I will actually have to do something over the summer, lol!!
Anyway, off to the gym to swim & pick up new exercise timetable to see if I can find a class I like the look of too.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Afternoon!
Spent most of the afternoon trying to find adobe audition 3 for the best price. Still looking.
Finished setting up my paypal account so I can get at the money in there when I hit pay out point. Not doing too badly so far.
Was working at one of the local sports clubs last night, which went ok. Few extra pennies help. Still waiting for my Spanish job to pay me. They're hoping it'll be tomorrow now.
Really need to lose some weight. Being very good about what I eat. Trying to avoid everything bad for me and forcing myself to do more exercise.
Done all my daily clicks and surveys for the day I think. Will have another check a bit later
Got roast chicken for dinner, so that will do at least another dinner later this week.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Hello everyone!
Happy Birthday Miss Catowen.... Been slaving away over a hot stove...here it is!:bdaycake: Dont think it will fit in the choccy fountain though;)
Well I've picked up mum from Heathrow, left home at 6.30! nearly took longer to get out of the short-stay carpark then to drive there! She looks well, and is now at home, sorting her case out - and itching to do the washing!:rotfl: - and no tacky t-shirt for me this time:o
I've handed over the reigns back to mum, so I will be able to sort my own house etc out next week and get back to the gym myself!
DH and I went and had lunch at Canary Wharf yesterday, and then walked around tower bridge etc in the sunshine, had a drink at St.Katherines Dock and got a free beer:D . Then went to a chinese last nite, which was abit disappointing, especially when everyone had said how good it was, but it was ok.
Kids are back from their sleepover at nannies...so usual mayhem as resumed at Chez Shez! :rotfl: maybe I could book them in for a Gap Year at nannies???
Ironing and Dr Who later (taped from last nite).
PP - Hope all goes as well as can be tomorrow xx
smokey - hope your doing alright chuck? xx
pam - hope your dads doing ok? xx
VickyA - hope yr having a good time in London, especially with no jubilee line to get to the O2 this weekend:rolleyes:

Afternoon all!
Got herbs, tom plants and some chilli plants out in the front flower bed now, and assorted seed, leeks, onions and potatoes planted in the raised veg beds. Great cos had oh and the kids all helping, more seed in tubs and potted some up for the window sills, yet more in pots on top of the rabbit hutch to stop dog from playing with them.
Arrived home from garden centre to find ds had completely restyled the dining room, now missing a table that goes against the wall! Best make sure I get it in from the garage tomorrow whilst he's at school, lol! dds' have tidied downstairs and helped with plants as well!
Made burgers with cheesy centres and patatas bravas for lunch, delicious! oh has suddenly decided that he can work the WM, fab as he put it on earlier, still not much good at folding stuff though, but baby steps! He has also put the bm on on his own for the first time, usually I help him, well I did the only other time he tried! Anyway seems ok and whirring happily - machine, not oh!
Just need to dry stuff in WM and make sure lunches and uniforms done for tomorrow now. Will be snacky sort of dinner as we all ate so much earlier.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Miss Owen and Mr Natzini - happy birthday.
Busy day in the garden and feel quite pleased with what I have done. One border really dug over in the back and a general clear up in the front. Oh dear, well, yes I have cut down daffodil stalks and leaves to about a half! Also strimmed borders. Had to water pots this afternoon as it has been really hot and sunny here today (not the forecast!). Want to keep on top of things before I go on holiday in a week. I have a touch of arthritis so my wrists slightly tender so enough is enough. Ibuprofen tonight and tomorrow I think.
Beef stew in slow cooker for tonight and DD coming over tomorrow with the boys as an extra visit so will put together a spag bol this evening.
Love and hugs to you all. PenPin - my daughter had awful problems with her periods in her early teens. The only thing that eventually sorted her out was going on the pill but then we had huge hormonal fluxes! Hope you are OK and thinking very much about what you are facing at the moment.
Take care all.

So much for what I said about the weather clearing up  I've just been rained on all the way to Asda, all the way from Asda to Tesco (because Asda didn't have any sesame seeds or own-brand wholemeal bread flour, only super pricey Allinsons) and all the way from Tesco to my front door...
Once I got to Tesco I bought the things I needed, plus 5 bags of white bread flour (that's all they had left, and it was still 48p). The checkout girl somehow managed to neglect to scan my sesame seeds - I was on my way out of the shop and realised my total had seemed a bit low, so once I realised why, I went to customer services and paid for the sesame seeds - after all I'd be quick enough to go to them if they owed me money...
Thanks to all the flour (and bottles of fizzy water I'd bought at Asda) my wally trolley was v. heavy on the way home... As it was so rainy, I had visions of it collapsing in a puddle on the way home and the bread flour covering Burgess Park in glue   but fortunately it survivedIt's a good workhorse, that trolley!
Shez, glad you had a good time yesterday - I love St Katharine's Dock. If I had megabucks that's definitely one of the places I would consider living. As it is, the only reason I'm ever there is to go to WaitroseOperation Get in Shape
