Hi I am okay, not had much sleep, but that's because I got to bed late and set the alarm to get up early as I have an apointment at the Doctor's at 10:20am. When I was having my panicks yesterday, hubby tried to get appointment for yesterday afternoon, but they were closed (yeah, really!) so managed to get another amergency appointment for this morning. As it is made, I am going to keep it. But yes, Trish and Margaret's words yesterday have really sank in now and I feel very positive :D
Thank You for asking and thinking about me.

Went to Doctors, demanded a second opinion - as I saw a female Doctor on Monday afternoon, this one was a man, older, wiser I hope
Broke down a bit, started crying, told him I had flipped with stress yesterday afternoon etc. He checked my records as I had never seen him before, saw that I had suffered a serious assault last September 13th (a year to the day - my breast clinic appointment is on 13th September this year  ) Cat died 5th August, breast lump 5th september (I'm not having a good life at the moment am I? he said...erm....)

I told him how terrified I was and I NEEDED TO KNOW it was a cyst. He examined me and said in his considered opinion, as the lump was smooth, and mobile it was most likely a cyst and it would be deflated on Tuesday when I visit the breast clinic. He could give no reason as to why it had appeared, although I pressed this point - why? why? why? etc. He did say it was more common the older we got. 'But I am young' I said, annoyed. He pointed out that anyone over 35 is prone to cysts with hormonal changes etc. Ha! So we are all old over 35 - charming!

I noticed as he scrolled through my patient records on the computer monitor that it was 'FAST TRACK' Breast screening. When I saw this I flipped, literally, again  If it's a cyst, why the fast-tracking? he explained that all women over 35 would be fast-tacked etc. if I had been 21 I wouldn't have been.

He recommended I have some councilling to cope with possible post traumatic stress disorder still possibly present following the assault last september and also to help me cope with the obvious grief at losing my cat and finding a lump. I'm fine, I said, I will be FINE as soon as they tell me it is a cyst. This last 12 months has been awful, 13th sept 2004 to current day. Only bright spot has been finding cottage and purchase going through and little Nash coming into my life to fill the gap that Plymouth left.

When this is all over I am going to jump so high in to the air I will hit the sky and my laughter will be heard all across this globe. yeah!

I know you have had lots of support on here but I thought I would add my two pennethworth. I have had the same thing as you. I put my life on hold between finding the cyst and getting the confirmation, it was only a couple of weeks but it felt like a lifetime.

The fine needle biopsy I had was completely painless, in fact if they I hadn't told me what was happening I wouldn't have known. None of the tests you will have are either humiliating or painful.

Good Luck and I will keep checking this thread for when you post your good news.

Thanks JanCee, that information is comforting. I do admit to been frightened of the needle pain etc. I mean, who wouldn't dread the thought of a needle being stuck in their boob :p but as you have assured me it is painless, I will hold on to that though between now and Tuesday.

    Hi again Ember icon7.gif

Once all this cyst business is over don't dismiss the idea of having some couselling...it sounds like you have had some very traumatic events to deal with this last year and you are about to embark upon another. By this I mean the house move - this is one of life's most stressful life-events

Counselling can be a very enriching experience and may help you to better deal with whatever life throws at you in the future. Do give it some thought.

P.S. That needle is very, very, very fine and as JanCee says you may well be hardly aware of anything happening!
