    I got £2500, I think that's about the limit.

LIMITS, still waiting for my card ......what's the average limit that people are getting????? asked for £3000, WISH would have asked for more now. Does it matter???????

    Hi all,

Did you get an instant acceptance response when you applied for the Abbey Zero cc?

Reason I am asking is because I got 'If your application has been successful, you will receive all the paperwork in the post, please sign and return and your card will then be issued'

    Thanks
 Debts: Capitalone £0, Vanquis £220, LX Direct £1197, Mutual £1107, JD Williams £23
  • Kpnut, I applied over the phone and was accepted. She said that the paperwork will be posted out first class.
    The limit is 6k.
  • Today I received a letter from Abbey in response to my complaint. They have apologiesed profusely for the poor customer service which apparently was a result of a higher than expected number of applications and had stated that they will be crediting my account within the next 7 to 10 days with a not insubstantial amount of money as a gesture of good will! Result!!! :T :T :T

I got no response whatsoever from them following my ‘pre-approved’ application. After a dozen or so phone calls, I gave up phoning and pursued them by letter. Nine weeks after applying, someone finally pushed a button to issue a card.

I got a similar letter saying £20 would be credited to my account as a gesture of goodwill.

Weeks later, it hasn’t been credited…

  • Does anyone know about the policy on Direct Debits? I was told they like to fix the debit date 10 days before the due date, eating in to the interest free period. I don't know if it makes a difference if you use an Abbey current account.

You were misinformed, or you misunderstood what was said to you.

The card offers up to 56 days interest free, meaning the payment due date (and therefore the DD date) is approximately 4 weeks after the statement date.

The 10 days you refer to is the notice required, under the DD guarantee, to inform you of both the amount and date of the payment to be taken. The way they notify you is via your statement, which is why if your statement doesn't say the DD will be collected then you must pay by other means.

Sending letter of complaint today to Shabbey!!! Had enough and applied for Virgin Credit Card at better APR of 16.6 and guess what... Instant acceptance and 16 month 0% Balance transfer.. Card will be here for me and the wife in 7 days..... Now thats how its meant to be done..... I sadly bank with Abbey via Cahoot and my mortgage is with Abbey but from next year I will be moving everything elsewhere.. Please please take my advice and stay well clear,, They are the most disorganised and useless Company I have ever has the misfortune to apply to.....
