    Hi Mrs Mix
Sorry to hear there isn't better news about your dad.
Today is the first day hubby's not had a headache, so he's feeling better, thanks for asking

    Afternoon all

Hugs where needed/wanted, and StefeJB, enjoy the birthday surprise..

DH and I pootled down to the allotment this morning - first time he's been out of the house since Wednesday. Given that he usually spends most of the day down there its been a shock to his system to be cooped up. He's feeling a lot better, though still a bit wobbly.

BM has worked its magic (got a Hovis packet mix) and I now have the biggest loaf I've ever made!! Had to cut two slices off just to get it into the tin we use for our loaves.

Lunch was Tom soup and the last of the granary loaf.
Tea is something of a mystery at the moment. May have to go and gaze into the freezer for inspiration (or an ice lolly)

My parents called down this afternoon - they were in town for tropical fish - and it was lovely to see them. They might be calling on tomorrow too to pick us up and take us to the garden centre at Gargrave. We're skint so it will be purely a fact finding mission I think.

Anywhoo, may bob in later. Enjoy your evenings.

    Good Afternoon All

Happy Anniversary Shez - have a lovely meal

Squiggly - glad your date went well

    Hello & Welcome to Pippad

Tru - good luck with upping your income

    (((Mrs mix & Dad)))

Well its a been a wonderful day here in the Essex house - weather has been stunning but obviously the best part of the day was when Chelsea beat Man Utd :j :j :j so will possibly have a drink later to celebrate.

Have made the most of the sunshine - all washing is washed and dried, spent a while over football watching DS and also had a lovely walk down the beach - have now a colour on my face and arms, such a pity its not meant to last.

Did my wii fit today - love it. Dont know how effective it will be but this morning had a little jog, some step and balancing exercises.

Just having a little sit down then will do dinner, OH has done well and has made the raised beds, just need some soil which will come later in the week.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

  • Donny-Gal -I know, that's the one downside to being OS.... too much eating of comfort foods I have baked... :( I am feeling very tempted to see if I can go & track down WiiFit somewhere - might entertain me this evening while the house is child-free (no one to laugh at me!!)
Amie399 - can I have some of your motivation please...?!

(((((poorly OH of Hester & dad of MrsMix)))))

Martyn, glad to hear that you are still feeling chirpy too, and that you feel like the "old" you... :)

PenPin, you are making me go to Mr T's now, as all I can think about is having a nice piece of steak for dinner too.... I have onion rings in the freezer as well.

Trying to sit & meal plan for the next week or so but not feeling the slightest bit inspired for that. However, just spent £134 in Dunelm Mill (ouch!!!!!) but got a load of new towels in all sizes, lounge lampshade, some 'posh' glasses that can be used for special puddings should I happen to entertain a guest at home, lol, and some plastic storage crates so I can properly sort out my hall cupboard...

Still such a beautiful day out there, I hope it lasts into tomorrow.

Well, I'll catch up with all the rest of the thread in a moment. Just sitting with a cuppa and laptop, been out all day at chorus competition in Leeds, so pleased to be home, prospect of a quiet evening in (dh going to beer festival, dd out, ds festering in his sty) and a quiet day pottering doing domestic stuff tomorrow.

We came top in the competition, but it's only the prelim round, more to do for October and the main competition. Was a nice day out and good to see some of the other choruses.

Will go and catch up with the thread now. Have a lovely evening everyone, will see some of you later.

metherer - glad your DH is feeling a bit better! mine is off work for a week but at least they've ruled out a thrombosis. He may have cracked his shin bone or got sometning called sore shins which has brought on the phlebitis.

AMIE - great to see you posting again and am glad all is well with you! x

Thank you for that, but, err, are you feeling okay? That must be the shortest post you've ever made :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(told you I felt better :D The "me" that's typing this feels like the "me" of 20 years ago :j )

So sorry to disappoint you with a short post! I could see someone coming down my front drive so I had to hurry!

    Great to see Loraine posting!

Congratulations on coming top in the competition, PurpleIvy.

PENPIN - I do hope you feel a lot better tomorrow.

Well, DH is cooking one of his lovely omelettes; it's smells delicious - I think he's adding all sorts of extra bits to it! Oh, it's ready - see you all later!

    Another shortish post, Martyn, sorry!

    evening al,

What a beautiful day its been, went out walking for hours, but left the water in the car so had a raging thirst by the time we had finished, felt like joining little dog and drinking out of puddles :D . Got three loads of washing dried on the line, and have now put it all away ( I don't do ironing).

Have had the fish for tea, it was delish and the smoked salmon pate was divine, got some left for tea tomorrow.

DD has gone off to the wedding, so its just OH and me now. Dr who was fantastic, can't wait till next week.

Hester, I wish you lived nearer to us, my BIL is crying out for blokes to work for him, can't seem to keep up with all the jobs at the moment. Hope things pick up for you.

    Have good evenings all xx

Hi all. I've managed to do 2 loads of washing so far and listed some more stuff on ebay. I had mash for tea (as I can only eat soft stuff for a couple of days!¬!!) OH had the salmon I got form supermarket yesterday-I fancied that, but never mind, I'd have shot through the roof if I'd got a bone stuck in the gap where they did the extraction!!!!!
I listed a book this afternoon and it sold within an hour!!! I've set myself a personal target to try and save/make 2k by august - from selling all my odds and sods. Hoping the weather will be nice next weekend so we can do a couple of car boots-get rid of clutter and make some dosh!!!
I'm also job hunting this week!!!
Right, I'd better stop waffling and go get ready for our walk, before OH gets rooted to the sofa watching the goggle box!!!
