Morning everyone!:D
Looks like being a lovely day so hopefully I'll get plenty of washing done and may be able to persuade DH to do a bit of lawn-mowing later. He's still in bed atm - as he has a lot of pain he tends to end up staying up late - until he feels he'll be able to sleep - so he wakes up late too, and I end up most mornings in my dressing gown doing not very much quietly downstairs so as not to disturb him
Shez - Happy Anniversary to you and Mr Shez! Sounds as though you have a lovely day planned - so glad the weather is good.
mrs mix - best wishes to your Dad.
Racy Red - how lovely to see you back - we've really missed you! How sad about the poor swan though - I hope he will find a new mate, or don't they ever do that?
Nicki - thanks for telling us about baby Sarah! Many congrats to Johanne and her OH.
Penny-Pincher!! - (((((HUGS)))))
Smokybabe -(((((HUGS)))))
AussieLass - thanks for posting the photos, they're lovely. Isn't DGS growing up! (Mind you, it would be odd if he didn't:D )
Catowen - hope you all enjoy your day! Sounds as if your DS certainly will.
Churchmouse - hope you and your DH enjoyed his birthday and managed to get out somewhere despite the weather! Glad you had such a lovely time with your DGSs the other day.
Sorry not to mention everyne individually but I can't remember what everyone said! ((((HUGS)))) to all who are poorly or have poorly children.
DGS is now over the chickenpox but has a cold and cough, which he's passed on to his baby sister. Poor little thing has been very itchy and is too young for Piriton, so DD has been dressing her in Babygros with scratch mittens - good thing she's still just about small enough to fit into the 6mths size! DGSs is meant to have a swimming lesson on monday, so hoping he'll be well enough forthat as he loves the water. Unfortunately his swimming teacher is leaving to work in Australia, and up to last week the Leisure Centre hadn't managed to recruit a new one.
I feel I have nothing at all interesting to say, as life lately seems to have revolved around helping DD with the DGCs!:p They are lovely but exhausting:rolleyes:
Right, DH is up now so I'm off. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible! :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:
Best wishes

Have just got out the things I hate ironing/pressing and thought I'd share these tips. Silk blouse/shirts - after washing by hand I let them dry until they are still a bit damp then put them in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer until frozen, then I get them out and iron, so much easier than spraying with water.
When I have to pres trousers I mix 1 part vinegar 2 parts water and put in spray bottle, spray along the bit you need to crease, cover with brown paper and press, you get a perfect crease that stays in.
Hope I'm not teaching Granny how to suck eggs, by the way ! I never ever saw my Granny sucking eggs Yuk!! _pale_0 -

:hello: Morning!
Life has been busy around here for a while so not been on to say hi until now!
Congratulations to Johanne and Aunty Nicki on the birth of Sarah!:T
(((hugs))) to Smoky, PP, Mrs Mix and Hilstep and all who could use one.
The dinner party went well, thank goodness this time I cooked in advance and used the freezer for storage, made it all so much easier. I now have a lovely recipe for potato and leek soup which freezes well. Even made bread rolls in the shape of hedgehogs and mice (very wonky ones though!:rotfl:which gave us something to laugh about) I do now have loads of mash potato to use up so will have a go at potato scones like my mil used to make and oh's scottish granny cooked for him when he was little.
I had an email a couple of days ago and through something I posted on another site I am back in contact with my best friend from when we were 11 years old! We are now catching each other up on all that has happened in the last 40 odd years!:j
Isn't the internet wonderful!
right off to do some really boring housework, would rather be out in the garden though so will try to escape out there later on!
have a lovely day!
Happy birthday Stefejb!

Morning all (just)
Happy B'day Stef, Congrats to Johanne, hugs to Smokey, PP, Mrs Mix, Hillstep & anyone else in need.
Lovely to see you posting RR, I have your photo site saved in favourites & often look at them.
WM is on, washing line already full, beds stripped. Shopping done, nothing exciting, just new lamps for the kitchen & some bread. GP is on soon & hubby will have burger in a bun, it's a tradition with him. I shal have something with lettuce as my cut & come again crop needs trimming. One of Katy's friend applied for a job at our school, she didn't get the job, it seems she told the interview panel she'd move in with me if she got the job!! Katy's been on the phone since 8:30, I'm glad it was an incoming call, she has caught up to date with her rent & just need to keep on top of the phone bill now. Hubby has agreed to work for just his train fare for the next 3 or 4 months to help his brother out, his brother & SIL have decided to divorce. Hubby will be happier working it's not like he has any other work offered.
I've finished crocheting squares & am now doing baby hats, but I'm spending today in the garden, as the wood for my raised beds will arrive soon.
Have a good day.
Hugs Hester
