What is Anzac Day?
ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.

Good Morning All
Not had chance to read the thread yet, Ive been busy with washing & trying to sort my bills out ready for paying later or tomorrow. It was pay day yesterday, so need to get things sorted.
(((hugs))) if you need/want one
Have you ever had one of those dreams when you wake up crying? I did this morning. I saw my dad in a supermarket, and despite me saying hello, he totally ignored me (in the dream). Well, as most of you know the history & so called relationship with him, today is the day Im going to ring to see if he wants to meet later for a coffee & chat! And hopefully I can get some answers! Wish me luck. My stomach's allready in knots!!!!
Kids are with their dad this wk end, so hopefully if weather's nice, we can get a car boot done.
Must dash & get ready for work.
Take care

Good morning everyone!
Got some bits for dd3's party bags yesterday, hooray for poundland! Pencils, notebooks, bubbles, also got some little clip on watches in the Claire's sale, together with a bit of cake and a pack of sweets - dd3 says we must put sweets in there! - should do nicely. dd3 packed them all up with dd1 supervising her yesterday when she came home from school, she is soooo excited about her party on Saturday - not at all old style I'm afraid, she's doing pottery painting at the local pottery cafe, still it's the OS ways that mean we can afford it, just, and it'll be the first time I've paid for a party in years, prob since ds was younger and went bowling. They usually all prefer to have them at home, and even the big ones seem to feel cheated if they don't get offered jelly and ice cream, lol!
Well this morning I've done the DW and BM, hoovered and cleared the tumble of books on the landing - why is it so hard to put them back on the shelves?! Mince is defrosting to make burgers later for kids tea, they wanted chips and something, no clue as to what the something they wanted was though! dd3 will be having spherical burgers, otherwise known as meat balls, as for some reason she won't eat burgers!
She has trotted off to school happy as larry today, wearing a bright orange bikini top - her bra as she informed me! Think this was cos dd2 bought herself a rather natty blue one yesterday and she was jealous - so dd2 had a rummage in the cupboard and came up with her old top!
Need to do some garden stuff today, then come up with a nice meal idea for oh, he's back home tonight, might be thai curry, can then just pop it in the SC in a bit! Then need to whip up a meal plan and check my flour stocks, can't think where it all goes - as she looks at BM whirring, and huge pile of twink's hob nobs, and plate of millie's cookies!
Have a super day everyone!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Ok, cancel that, I'm home again. Poor DH, he's better than the other day, but still definately not right.
So, I may be on here again later.
Hope everyone has a good day - its a bit overcast here, but I'm hoping we'll see a bit of sun later on.
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

morning all - another night of coughing so am up late again. dd has very swollen tonsils so she's keepng me company today
i did get the ice cream machine from aldi yesterday so will have a play today.
nice to see lots of newbies - yes it's nice and cosy here but I have been shot down on occasions where I've stepped out elsewhere
bethebee- that's surely child abuse - but brilliant - will bear it in mind - I have lots of lovely old musicals she could watch.
will pop in again post-coffee - have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning Guys!
Slept well last night:D
DD's hair looks fabulous and Im bald:eek:     .....it does look ok though, but wasnt expecting to have this much off...the ends were quite dry and think it could be the meds etc
Bedding is in the WM, DW emptied and the cleaners are due later, so nothing else needing doing by us;) .....I feel so shattered today. Washing will be hung out on line once finished as we are due rain over the weekend apparently but willl be warmer.
OH is taking me out for lunch at a greasy spoon I expect:rolleyes: ....or maybe push the boat out and have a Mcdonalds:rotfl:
We are at friends for dinner later and am taking a pudding that has been lurking in the freezer for a while and will give me more room as its a huge choccie fudge cake.
Anyway, need to have a shower and get dressed.
Hugs to all

Right! that's it! I have to tear myself away from here. Loads to do and won't get anything done tonight as ds has concert and also the Morris kids side are doing a demo at a charity ceilidh. If I want to do anything for myself it will have to be during daylight hours!
Also out all day tomorrow with the chorus competition. They reminded me last night at chorus that I have to get my fake tan on. I haven't started the process and I need several coats as I'm soooooo white. See you all later on...maybe at coffee time?[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. AUSSIE - Happy Anzac Day!
CRAZYCHIK - I often have dreams like that! When my DS2 was younger, because he is such a fearless daredevil, I used to dream that dreadful things happened to him or that I'd lost him and that used to make me cry in my sleep. I also once dreamt that my Dad was still alive. It took me over an hour, once I had woken up, to realise that he wasn't. The worst thing about it was that I could smell the shaving cream he used to use - he used to dab some on the end of my nose as a joke. It was such a strange dream; DH couldn't believe how inconsolable I was. The thing is, they always seem so real, don't they?
Well, I have caught up with myself since I overslept and just need to do my shopping list before I hit the shops. I 'found' some extra money in my account, too! I have recently switched to E.on from B Gas (like lots of people have!) and they sent me two letters, one saying they would take out a payment for electricity today and another saying they would take out for gas and electricity today - double the first amount. Checking my account, they have taken the first lot but not the second. Anyway, I phoned them and they said they won't take the larger amount until next month. So, I am about £40 better off than I thought! So far, the service with E.on has been great; when I phone they answer straightaway - no options or anything irritating like that, and they are very helpful. Mind you, they still owe me £30 cashback for switching!
Anyway, off to do my list and then go shopping. I will try not to be tempted to spend my 'extra' money!
