Morning my lovelies!
Got a nice OS-ish weekend planned for myself, hubby is off out with the boys from work tonight so im playing taxi for him which i really dont mind as im trying to get him to come out of his shell more and socialise more which always does him wonders.
Gonna spend my time sleeping (still not well and still not diagnosed with anything) and listing as much as i can on ebay and sorting out my home office. Got to hammer the job applications off too.
Last weekend i made a big buffet for the in laws coming round and hubby loved it so im going to make a smaller scale one this weekend for saturday night tea, that way i can throw it together mid afternoon and put it in the fridge, then if i fall asleep he can just take out and uncover what he wants to eat and doesnt have to wait for me to make something.
Might have to visit the lovely wet fish shop at the coast and go for a walk along the beach at some point at the weekend too... probably saturday morning just to torment hubby's hangover
Love to you all, will check back in later as i want to update some budgets and spreadsheets and will need some OS inspiration and motivation.0 -
Morning all
It's a lovely day here on the Planet Thanet. WM is on and will hang it out shortly.
Welcome Mme. Clochard.
KIPPERS I hate that, there really is no need to be nasty to people, we're all in the same boat.
Hugs to all who want one, SMOKEY hope you are ok.
AUSSIE Anzac Day sounds quite sad to me, a bit like Rememberance Sunday.
Have loads to do today. Trying to get the house straight before I start studying again next week. OH will be in bed for some of it, but when he gets up I shall hoover. Dinner will be spag bol done in the SC.
Have a good day all.

Good morning,
my "virus" has revealed itself to be a nasty case of conjunctivitus, so I am viewing the world through two tiny red piggy slits instead of eyes. I wanted to take ds to the zoo today, but I think I'll be better staying indoors.
I will do some OS planning today, instead of OS action I think. I was fairly horrified at the price rises during my last trip to Asda, so I need to have a big think about new ways that I can save some money.
Take care all of you, and (((hugs))) to anyone needing them0 -
Morning all
Am off to work shortly, which means DH is a lot better. Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday, he appreciated them.
Will try and post tonight, so have a good day all, hugs to whomever wants them.
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Morning everyone!
REDRUBY - it's nice to be 'missed', thanks! I'm slightly hungover. We went to visit our lovely friends who had just been on a cruise; I only had two (very large) glasses of wine and they knocked me out for the night! I didn't wake up until nearly 7am - VERY late for me! Anyway, I'm not badly hungover, just a bit slower than usual.
(((Hugs))) to SMOKY and the LOs. Thinking of you.
(((Hugs))) also to PENPIN, MARTYN (good luck with the job) and all those still poorly or suffering.
KIPPERS - Welcome to you; I've also just had a nose on the DFW. We would NEVER do that to you. You stick with us; we're all nice!
MME CLOCHARD - welcome to you, too. You'll enjoy it here! (Are you French?)
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
SQUIGGLY - I love the sound of that poster. I wish I'd had one when I needed it! All of you with grunty teenagers - they turn into very nice people - eventually! It took my DS2 about 25 years but he got there in the end! I've really enjoyed the stories about other people's teenagers; sometimes, you think you're the only one suffering, don't you?
CRANKY - poor you with conjunctivitis; that is so uncomfortable. I hope you get better soon.
HESTER - glad hubby has stopped bleeding!
Well, fortunately, I have managed to keep on top of everything this week so even though I woke up late, I don't feel anything is really pressing on me. I have to do my food shop this morning (which will, no doubt, have gone up another tenner) but I have decided we're having HM pizza for dinner which is already in the freezer so that will be easy. Pudding will be some more of Haribo's 'Fifteen's'. HARIBO - my DH luuurved them!
Well, I know I was late coming on here but I've made up for it with all the waffle. I'd better go before MARTYN comments on it!
Hope everyone is having this lovely weather. I, too, got fairly wet in yesterday's sudden afternoon storm but then it really brightened up and the rest of the day was great.
Anyway, see you all later. Have a great Friday!

:hello: another day another dollar.
appraisal yesterday was not great. not that I'm not doing my job well, but I dont have bits of paper to prove it"dont I have minutes of meetings with my colleagues?"
eh no. we talk, make changes and work hard (if we are really good we get a coffee break.) Manager thinks we should have time to do audits, have meetings, do lunch with our colleagues to strengthen our team ethic ( I struggled not to fall over laughing at that bit). This is the manager who has not contacted us since she took over last summer!
anyway she's coming back when I've had time to knock up some proof I work 8 hours a day....
tonight for tea...not sure. but large bottle of red will be purchased on the way home.
Your manager isn't the same [STRIKE]b***h[/STRIKE] person that I work for perchance?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Good morning
aussie Happy ANZAC's Day. How many Anzac biscuits do you *have* to scoff today to be a true patriot?
Mme Clochard Hello and welcome
kippers DFW is normally a very helpful board (I lurk there quite often) so I'm surprised at the reception you received. Will have a look at that thread. Best stick to the nice people on OS.
Smoky (((hugs))) to you and your family.
Ordered some snowdrops for DNephew and his wife (thanks Churchmouse for the poem) and will send these to him with the poem. Will use another poem someone PM'd me in a card for DS and DD to send to them. BargainRZL was sorry to read yesterday that a friend of yours has had a similar experience to my DNephew. It is such a tragic event for all concerned.
Payday today. :j My bank's local branch that I use to pay in cheques is closing down soonso will now have to pay parking charges just to pay my salary in at the branch in town.
Yesterday I tried 3 times to get petrol at my local Morrisons (they are 105.9p per litre and everyone else seems to be 108.9p) but couldn't even get on to the forecourt! Thinking I was being clever, I drove down at 7.00 this morning and still had to queue!!! I wonder if people here are panicking about the impending strike at Grangemouth or just refuse to pay for dearer petrol elsewhere.
Dinner is yellow-stickered poussin, lunch is yellow-stickered chicken with cous cous. No idea what I'm having for breakfast yet. Need to go raid the cupboard.
Have a fabulous Friday all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Trouble is Kippers that people like that think that they are Funny, Big and Clever, when in fact they aren't. They aren't clever enough to realise that they might upset someone."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Annie, can you open an internet account, or is there an address you can post cheques to? I have an account with cahoot and used to have first direct. Cahoot provides prepaid envelopes that I use to pay in cheques. If I post them in good time, they will appear on the account the next day or the day after and clear in the normal amount of time. I believe cahoot pays a reasonable amount of interest on current accounts and you can have a higher rate of interest if you elect not to have a cheque book. We've been pleased with the service provided."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
