You're right again, BexTech. Just rang SP who have confirmed as much.

For me (on the energy online saving) the actual charge rates are the SAME!!! The only difference is the increase in standing charge (£1.50/m each for gas and elec) so that's on overall increase in £36/y so for me it's got to be worth the gamble.

Thanks again for your help with this.
    online energy saver

Received paperwork this morning, it mentions in that it's £1.50 more per month.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Hi,

I am confused about the best way to go. I am currently a SP customer and according to my latest bill, I am on Premier Plus but I cannot see this tariff on the comparison sites.

My MPAN states a profile class of 02 which is Economy 7 I think but I have had it confirmed by SP that although i have a dual meter, I am not on E7 so I would have thought that I would have a profile of 01.

My distributor code is 11 which is East Midlands Electricity but I guess they just leave that and not use the SP one.

According to SP, my usage (in kWh) is 20016 for Gas and 6174 for Electricity. My last bill has three different charge bands for both gas and electricity but I guess this is because they increased their prices in Feb.

How would I go about doing a comparison when the tariff doesn't seem to exist ? I am guessing that a fixed price is best to go if it is just an extra £36 a year as I guess prices will go up more than that (only require about a 2.4% increase to cover it).

I would like to go through Quidco or another cashback site if I was to go to another supplier and it would appear that I could do this even if I stay with SP but have seen no definitive statement about this - I do not want to lose my account at quidco for example :)

I have just spoken to them about the Economy 7 MPAN profile (As I have a dual meter, it will always show this but I am not charged a dual rate - there is a single rate), and I was told that the Fixed till 2011 offer was best for me and their website (http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/Home_Energy/Product_Information/Fixed_Price_Energy/) still shows it available.

Just applied via Topcashback, and the fxd tariff was able to be chosen.

Just to let you know that the sales staff are still offering the fixed rate so although you may not be able to sign up on some cashback sites they are still offering it over the phone. Sales No 0800 400 200 Opt 2
