Am I right in assuming that I would need an external Antennae / Aerial to make a freeview box work or will it work with a small indoor antennae ? For the NW10 area.

The aforementioned highly rated matsui tutv-1 box is currently £30 in currys. The quality of this box is, I think, aptly demonstrated by the fact that ASDA are still selling the same box with a different brand on it for £65!!!!
  • One thing to bear in mind is that these freeviews are not designed to last very long..ok you might say they only cost £15-30 on average .but you don't want to be buying a freeview year after year. After talking to quite a few people I came to the conclusion that after a year or so most freeviews are no good. The samething happened to me after a year. I bought a Philips DTR 1500 freeview for about £30 during an Argos sale. After a year it broke down. I wrote to philips expressing my disappointment & they offered a free repair. 2 months later it broke down again. I wrote to Philips one more time telling them that this product is not reliable at all. They offered another free repair within a week. The freeview is working fine now. So Philips Customer Services are indeed vey good but I'm not too sure about Philips Freeviews.

How long has your freeview last? I'll be quite interested to know? So let's find out which is the most reliable one.
