no you dont need a card
if you are already a sky subscriber then you already have a card that will work
I repeat, if you already have a sky card you do not have to fork out for a free sat one

Asda now selling the Pacific box for £24.98.
It's just the same one as the Duraband which is £29.98.
I bought the Duraband model last week as they had no Pacific models in stock & it was the same price anyway & am well pleased with it.
It had been recommended by several users on another thread on this site.0 -
can anyone tell me if I move house can I start a fresh with sky subscriptions in my husbands name so I can get sky+ for £89 plus half price for 3 months0

so if I cancel my NTL account but keep the box, will I still be able to get the Freeview channels without paying anything?!0
-
Sky subscribers buy their boxes, cable subscribers rent theirs from their provider. Even if NTL forget to pick up the box it is still theirs. You won't get Freeview on it either - you might get some of the channels that are also on Freeview but not all and NTL will eventually cut you off.0

I know quite a few people where the previous owner has subscribed to cable but they haven't. They're still able to get the basic signal and hence the free channels. I don't think its cost-effective for the cable companies to turn the signal off (maybe the engineer actually has to do a site visit).0

I found out that at my grans they physically removed socket when she cancelled... Annoyed
Im still stuck as to what to buy for an EASY TO USE, and decent box for them... Any ideas? Alot of these seem to be purely on price but its no good if they dont use it!
Advice please.0 -
I am surprise Martin done a thread for the cheapest free box I would go against suggestion of cheaper box for the reason that:
A/ The box gets rather warm may cause hazard of fire
B/ Signal not very good possible week in most cases
C/ EPG or software very poor standard
D/ Dreadful in general
