Great Cheapest Freeview Box Hunt

  • I got a Digilogic freeview box from Tesco a few months ago for just under £30 and combined it with a voucher which they were issuing in Northern Ireland when you spent over £60 you got £8 off your shop, so the freeview box cost me £22.

Mu question is because it is a bog standard freeview box and does not have a slot for top up tv, how can I get top up tv. Also does anyone know of any offers for top up tv so that I can ascertain if I want it before signing up to a 12 month contract.

    many thanks

Staff at Tesco Bletchley were piling up Alba boxes at under £20 yesterday.

Does anyone have a link with details for the Alba one that's in Tesco for under £20 please? What's the model number?
    Thanks
  • Hi all
I'm interested in the Tesco £19.99 Alba boxes but my local Tesco (Yeovil) still have them at £24.98 and as I need to buy 2 wondered if anyone knew which stores have them at the lower price?

Hope this is not already in this thread.

Just got a Mico freeview box from Asda for £24.96. I already have a Goodmans GD6 (Retails about £45.00) but the Mico in my opinion, is better. 7 day epg, twin scarts and more user friendly / better features than the GD6.

    update

had this box for a little over 12 hours now and it is going back. Box keeps crashing. Looks like it is not a one off problem according to this thread at digital spy...

Currys/Dixons have a good Thomson box with card and one months sub, half price, at £49.99, all in. Bargain if you want Top-uptv, box is What Satellite and Digital TV's Best Freeview Adapter 2005 award and it got a 5 star review in Home cinema choice magazine. I posted this earier, but it sank without trace.

Well - I've been to 2 Tescos in my area and they didn't have the Alba ones for under £20. Are they only available in the Extra Stores? Has anyone else actually seen them for this price?
    Thanks

I bought a Goodmans for £39.99 from Sainsbury's yesterday but noticed elsewhere that Tesco sell Digilogic ones for £29.97. Can anyone tell me if there is any difference. It's not for me but a present but obvisouly if they are both the same I would go & buy a Tesco one and then another little present to go with it!
Thanks if you can help! :xmastree:
