well I guess whatever there was a shortage of or whatever people started panic buyingPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I worked in a supermarket and remember well the sugar shortage and the bread shortage - it was totally manic and eventually we had to hand out the stock to make sure everyone got their share, staff were verbally and physically abused it is surprising how nasty people can get when there is a shortage of anything.
I keep at least three months stock of bread flour and yeast, dried milk, pasta, rice, sugar and coffeeBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

It might not increase in price at all.....what might happen is a rationing system, to keep things available to everyone.
RAS, is this true about the EU standard being dropped? Does this mean we might *shock horror* get curvy bananas and cucumber again?Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

..and I think Butterfly Brain's post would be the way we would have to cope with this.
I am a firm believer in if there is a shortage of any food on offer - then people must be "rationed" to x number per household.....and, yep, I know some people would "fiddle the system" - 'fraid I cant think of a way round that one.:cool:0 -

What about long life items like UHT milk, Beans, Corned Beef, Spam, tinned soup etc...? Stuff you can stock up on, forget about and not worry about expiration?Minds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

How much has it gone up? I noticed today in Asda Allinsons wholemeal flour is half price at 62p a bag.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
