Hands Up If You Hate Vista!

Im getting more and more frustrated with vista!
I got it included with my laptop from dell and there was no problem. Until i needed to update my anti virus. I had AVG and it was fine. Then once i downloaded it, when i next booted up it said it was out of date? So i updated it. Then it said it was out of date again about 10 minutes later!

so i decided against AVG and bought Mcafee! bad idea. Is there any thing i can download to fix mcafee? It keeps saying my personal firewall has gone funny and it had to close. But then when ive click ok, it loads the same message again a couple of minutes later.

Can anyone help me? Im abit stuck!

Whats this got to do with vista? Sounds like the problem lies with mcafee.. which is a horrible program.
  • It works on XP (the other computer we have)
But its just not having it on vista!
Is there a conflict with firewalls? I think that windows defender is off?

I'm running AVG fine on my laptop which has vista. It's updates daily and scans 3 times a week - no problems.

EDIT: Reread the post and AVG as someone mentioned earlier requires a few updates on initial install, so not really a problem.

Mcfee - The best thing you can do is uninstall it and stick something else on as it is not very good imo.

    Try AntiVir http://www.free-av.com/

which is lighter on resources than AVG and also scans in half the time and in tests has better detection rates as well and of course its free.

    Better get used to Vista.

From what I've heard, Windows won't be supporting XP by 2010.
