This is such a good thread...
Im mid-twenties too and seem to have lost many of my friends and im not sure how to make new ones now.
I have previously tried WW, but as you say it was all married women who were much older than me and the gym (which I enjoy) were all too focused on getting their workout than chatting. They dont hold socials. The classes all seem to be attended by groups of people who dont want to chat to the loner.
I even joined a cult book club at the library but since we only meet once a month there doesnt seem to be much scope there for awhile at least.

Have you tried Rosemary Conley exercise classes? They are a bit like Weight Watchers in that you get weighed and then have a class talk, but you then do an exercise class afterwards. When I went there were loads of women there of all ages and its easy to get chatting to the person in front of you or behind you when you are waiting to get weighed. Also, a lot of the exercise classes are really fun, when I used to go there was a slim and salsa one which was a hoot! There was also a social aspect to our class too - we all got on a coach and went to a garden party at Rosemary Conley headquarters in Leicestershire. I got to meet the lovely lady herself (she is so so tiny!). I don't go anymore, but I am thinking of joining again, now that my indian cooking class has just finished (now that was good fun and met some great people there!)MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. I've been thinking of joining a book lunch, one of our local bookshops does one, I should really see if the library does to.
My plans of joining the chat last night were dust in the end, my internet connection was doing funny things and it keep kicking me out of the site!! I gave up in the end :mad:Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
