Baths!!!! whats a bath, haven't had one for years!!!!!
Seriously though we have a bath with a shower over it, never have a bath, the last time I tried I got stuck, got in ok but could not get out......... there comes a time when one has to give in garcefully........so shower sometimes twice a day is my routine....... I read my books and mags in bed, nice and cosy in the winter, often drift off to sleep reading, DH complains, he has to get out and switch off my light!!!! Poor thing!!! Condiering he snores so loudly he wakes me up, he should complain.....

Sorry tootles!
Well understand your predicament. I can get down easy enough but the getting up bit is getting harder - will have to have more baths now when I can still appreciate them!
Having a new house built with en suite, and not having a bath there, although did have the option - just know that my days of loitering in the bath are quickly coming to an end - and even the drinking of wine, more likely to be a cuppa these days!0 -
Yeah, I long since gave up baths because I'm never quite sure any more if I would be able to get out again. Showers are much safer but it makes the books soggy if you try to read themHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Is he as bad as that hey.:D I hoard sentimental things. Cards & notes everybody has given me. Old letters, sweet little things the kids have made me when they were small. Letters of forgiveness from DH begging me to stay. :rotfl:OK I just made that one up. But you get my drift on the all the stuff I keep. DD & I often go through it all on rainy days and have a giggle and trip down memory lane.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Every year about this time I try to have a good de-clutter.As I get older it gets harder as you are often throwing out some good memories. I shed every utilities bill over 12 months old and most Xmas cards. About 5 years ago my late husband bought me a beautiful Christmas card ,very unusual for him as he wasn't a card buyer. Anyway I was so pleased with it I said right from now on I will get this card out and put it on display and I don't ever want you to buy another one.he agreed and every year we would write on the back Xmas 2000-1-2 ect.
he sadly passed away in 2003 ,but I still get his card out ,but put it on my dressing table to remind me of how he was so pleased with my reaction to it. Although he is no longer with me I feel as though he is if you see what i mean. We also had a memory box that we kept our own personal mementoes in from our 39 years together in.
He was a happy chap and we had a great time together and I don't get sad about it I just remember all our good times.
Apart from that I am quite good at binning junk, although I must admit I would find it hard to throw away any books or records. My daughter says that I must sort my records out as i have been collecting since I was 11 and that is nearly 50 years. So that is my next big project so the local charity shop may be in for a surprise quite soon.
Cheers everyone .
P.s. Why do we save all those grotty toys from xmas crackers anyway?0 -

Aaaaw JackieO, that is lovely. Good on you girl!
No idea about those grotty cracker toys either - finally binned a whole load in January, but don't tell anyone........daughter hasn't missed them yet! No doubt she will, come Christmas.......and by then, my memory will have failed me as to their whereabouts.
On an equally happy note about cards, Valentine card for hubby which was so appropriate, keeps resurfacing - he liked the cheek of me recycling when he finally cottoned on, so dare not lose it now!0 -

How can you have a bath without something to read and a cuppa, or glass of wine?
Er .... certain members of my family (who shower and do not bath) often like to have a little read while they are ... ... umm .... .... well suffice to say, they do not always stay for a wee while~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
