Redruby/Pink - thanks for the advice on the yeast. That's what I thought, too. Not worth risking a loaf worth of ingredients for some dodgy yeast. Will pick some up at Asda this evening. It will probably mean I don't get around to making my first loaf until at least tomorrow (as by the time I get home from Asda there will be no point starting one). Of course in an ideal world I would pop into mini-Tesco on the way home to pick some up so I could start off some dough before heading out on my main shopping trip, however I have a little inkling that carting a large box containing the BM onto the bus, off the bus, into Tesco, round Tesco, out of Tesco, back onto the bus and home might not be the most practical thing in the world :rotfl:

Shez, yes, this will be week 3 of the ballet lessons (Thursdays). I am enjoying it though I'm finding it tricky as I have very curvy legs with full calves, which means I physically can't get my heels together in first position without bending my knees (and in fifth position I can't get my feet anywhere near one another :o)

Welcome Ruthibe73 :D All the best people are called Ruth ;):D

Morning again - am signed off w*rk for the week - yay. This was not without some trauma though. I've never needed a doctors note before so thought I could just sort of tell him that I'd been ill - cough a bit and that would be that but no. First I had to get the appointment - receptionist told me I didn't sound ill enough for an emergency appointment (get her!) so I explained taht I needed a note today, she said i could come in on thursday, i said i needed it today as I'd self certificated for a week, she said i should have made an appointment last week, but I didn't know i was going to be as ill as this!!!!!. Anway dr, who was new to me, said that my chest and so on was clear. Well yes, said I but I'm still coughing all night and don't want to go back to work untill I'm properly better, should have come in last week, I didn't know it was going to last as long as this - it never has before - anyhoo I've got the note and am off for the rest of the week but will ensure next time that I clog up the waiting room, spreading my germs over all and sundry, just in case. Cycled back home via tesco and feel really rubbish. haven't eaten properly for a while so decided to just get what I fancy and s*d the expence - that turned out to be some happy chicken, half a jar of olives and a salad cream sandwich (no definitely not pregnant)

Nice to hear from you Anniestar

One does sometimes get the feeling that one needs to plan in advance when one is going to be ill, so that one can make the appropriate appointments at the appropriate time!

Been into work today. COughed quite a bit. Am home now. Volunteered to cover for colleague for a couple of lessons tomorrow and THursday, but she's come out of hospital and will be back in tomorrow it seems.

Am taking a break from chorus sewing... I need to concentrate and had a seam the wrong way round. will have 10 mins here and then go back.

STEFEJIB - how inconvenient of you not to plan your illness! Honestly, what a palaver they have put you through and it certainly is not up to the receptionist to decide how ill you are! Still, I'm glad they've signed you off for the week - it will hopefully give your cough a chance to go. My last two colds have left me with coughs and they wear you out!

Well, I've shoved the rice pudding in the oven for DH and done a bit more paperwork. I was tempted to iron the stuff I took off the line but I couldn't really be bothered! It'll get done some time tomorrow, I suppose.

Anyway, off to make a cuppa.

I'm not too keen on being called Ruthie - but have a dear old aunt that I allow to call me that. Anyone else gets ignored. Kids at school used to call me Kanga after Roo appeared in Home and Away.

Ooh better get back on with some work, boss has just walked in the office.....

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning
