morning all
Wet and windy here, washing will be hung inside again, yesterday was lovely got all the bedding dry.
Back to reality today, DD back at school, although she has wed off for staff training, and not sure about the strikes during the week.
Cottage pie and veg for tea, and might start on dd's pit, it needs a really good clean through, in preperation for painting.
I was in the garden all afternoon yesterday, got loads done, which left OH in charge of the dinner, it was lovely, but suffice to say there is no chicken left for a pie, I would have got at least six dinners off of the chicken, he got three  , never mind it was delicious.
Cat good luck at the DR and dentist x

Hi everyone!
(((Hugs))) to Smoky and the LOs, Martyn and PenPin.
Catowen - doctor and dentist all on one day! You are so brave - good luck with both!
Jannyannie - welcome back!
Well, we have steady rain here after what was a lovely day yesterday. Still, it's not cold and it's not windy. Our local schools go back today so the roads will be busier again.
RedRuby - great minds think alike! We're having cottage pie for dinner tonight! We always have it with baked beans at DH's request, and he also smothers it with salad cream. Yuk!
Well, I have a lot of office work piling up on my desk - I hope I can be as disciplined as Essex-girl and stick at it from 9 to 3. Mind you, I have to go to the bank this morning and I want to visit the gym because I've been very lax with that lately. My office work won't start till about 11.
Anyway, most of the housew**k is done; for a change I don't have enough washing for a load and we are up to date with bread and cakes. I have just a handful of things to iron which I shall do in a minute.
Well, better go and get on with that ironing.
See you all later.

DH cooked a huge piece of beef yesterday, with yorkshires and loads of veg. I made this crumble with rhubarb from the garden. Making a mushroom and black eye bean curry for tea. I'm going to try my hand at chapattis, too
We planted loads of seeds yesterday (cucumber, chilli, sweetcorn, sweetpea, aubergine, lettuce, bean, pea). We also got our hatching eggs. We have 6 buff orpington and 2 of our own light sussex eggs in the incubator. We'll see if Darcy if performing in the cokerell department

Not much OSing here today, yesterday's washing draped all over the house as it didn't dry completely on the line & is now pouring with rain out
Pork steaks for supper, in some sort of sauce - will see what's in the cupboard!! (not very OS I know)

Good morning
I am typing from my desk at work, mad rush this morning so nothing done at home before I left
Need to clear up my kitchen tonight, was out all day yesterday and my DD has left the kitchen in a complete mess. Anyone got any advice on how to get a lazy 18 year old to do her share? There is only me and her in the house and I get so stressed at how untidy it all becomes within hours of cleaning it! Those with little children beware it all gets worse as they get older!!
Hope you all have a good day despite the grey clouds (although forecast is for 25 degrees at the weekend!!)
Hugs to all

Morning all, sounds like you're all getting yourselves sorted out.
I spent another night in the spare bed, dh snoring (well he has had cough etc!) and I kept coughing and couldn't settle. read for a few minutes and then left the radio on. I tend to sleep well with the radio on.
I'm hoping that I can go back to work tomorrow. Just don't feel quite ready at the moment. Everything is such an effort and if I move too quickly I start to cough. Little Miss Ivy is off again today, says her throat is sore and has a headache. DH being cynical again..."how come she can manage a full weekend's activities fine de-da-de-da-de-da?" Anyway, no point in pushing her if she's not fit. She seems to be reasonably well on with A Level stuff.
It's DH's birthday today. I haven't left the house (except to do a quick drop off at orchestra on Saturday morning in my pyjamas!) for a week now, so not done a present shop. Kids about the same. Might try and find a card I've made. He's not having his "birthday" till he gets home from work, so I might get out and get something yet. He won a 2nd hand lawn mower on ebay yesterday and should be collecting somewhere in Liverpool, hopefully today. Do you think that would do for a present?
Will try and make a cake for tea. Green & Black cookbook has a chocolate and ginger one. Trouble is, don't really want to get spotted out shopping if I'm off sick! Know what I mean? Perhaps if I wear my short wig I won't get recognised?

When you find out, let me know!!! I think half the time it's 'busy' rather than lazy...not sure I can count Facebook/MSN as 'busy' though.
When my friend's son left home, she mucked out his sty. She couldn't fit all the glasses in the kitchen cupboard!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
