  • A man was standing next in line at a checkout, when the attractive blonde woman in front of him turned around and gave him a big smile.

"Hello," she said, as she waited for her change.

"Er, I'm sorry. Do I know you?" The man said in some confusion.

"Oh, my mistake. I thought you were the father of one of my children," she said apologetically, and picking up her shopping, she left the store.

The man was astonished. He thought, "How amazing that a good looking woman like that should have forgotten who fathered her children." Then he began to worry. He had had an encounter in his youth that could have resulted in a child he didn't know about. She had been blonde, pretty, and about the same height.

On leaving the store, he saw the woman getting into her car. He ran over to her and said, "Look, you couldn't have been the girl I met that night at a party in Hampstead, in 1980 could you? We sh@gged on the billiards table in front of everyone, things got really wild and I got so drunk that I didn't get your number."

The woman looked utterly outraged and said, "No! I'm your son's English teacher."

  • Morning

Well its pouring with rain here

Have a white wash to do and a dark wash-so looks like ATM it will be dried in the TD. Dont have much in the way of cleaning to do as cleaner is due this morning-so I can sit back and chill :D

Made a lovely fruit cake in the BM yesterday and was dirt cheap. When we do another, I think I will cut back a little on the sugar as it was so sweet, also added some mixed spice, nutmeg & cinnamon-it smelt like Xmas.

Have to get Car Tax today (£170) but have managed this fine due to cutting back on the groceries, so im happy. We are hoping to get a newer car in April/May, smaller with better fuel consumption. Have a few parcels to wrap and send from ebay-so OH can do this when getting the tax at PO.

Lunch is breaded haddock, mash & peas. Dinner will be Spagbol.

    Anyways, will catch up later.

  • Boooo what a day. A relative lent me his sporty car which he keeps spick and spam for 2 weeks and I took real good care of it. This morning I had an interview and after that I was meant to return it. I was in a rush for the interview and as I drove out the driveway I knocked over my white picket fence! So landlord will get angry (unless I can fix it) and the car had huge white paint on it and then a couple of BIG scratches. Got to the interview (How I will never know) and feel it went well (it's called denial I think). I scraped all the white paint of the (metallic red) car but it still looked horrid. Went to return it and he was good about it but I feel so so so guilty! Why does that never happen with my own old banger? I don't believe it!
Only good thing is that my new Kenwood Yoghurella maker makes beautiful thick yog. yum. will comfort eat me thinks.
Hope the day is over soon :(:(:(

  • Morning all!

Jo, your post was great and makes me feel like tackling lots of important things! It's good to have a confidence boost like that and to top it off by getting little unexpected pots of money!!

competitionscafe, you made me really giggle! Will tell my mates that one this morning!

It's a wet, windy and cold day in NW London, I will get kids ready for school and tackle the tip of a mess I'm living in when I get home.

    Have a good day!!

  • Hello everyone :)

Was going to post last night, just after Jo, but TBH, I was knackered so went to bed instead :) After cleaning mum's house yesterday, I must have got the bug, because I came home and got all the attchments out for the vac (it's a Kirby so heavy and cumbersome) and vac'd the hall, stairs, landings and attic bedroom within an inch of their lives - floors, skirtings, corners, architravings, pictures etc.

So, today, will whip round aforementioned rooms with a damp cloth to get rid of last remaining specs of dust. Need to get some windows cleaned too. Will attempt the same on my bedroom as I have lots of heavy furniture that doesn't get moved much. Also need to make up a shopping list for the supermarket items and will go to market for meat/veg first.

Have to tell you, had a right result last night with regards to MIL coming for Xmas. First, she's only coming for the week :j :j :j I don't think she could cope with the excitement of 2 1/2 weeks with us again - after all, we're always going out at night (not), what with 2 small kids etc!! Anyway, Mr TM said he'd book her flight over - she now has internet connection at home herself - but can you see what's coming.....HE books the flight with HIS cc.......will he get paid back????? So, last night I said - 'what name do we book the flight in?' (Her DL and passport are in different names) He didn't know so I rang up, asked her and just said 'which card do you want me to put it on?' :D Result!! Managed to get it for under £33 anyway.

OK, off for a surf and some more green tea. Have a good day :D

Woke up to fresh baked bread- tried the sandwich loaf recipe for first time.

Back on slimming world plan as I have put back some weight recently, so I will not be trying the bread!

About to have "approved" breakfast then a shower in peace as everyone is out.

Ironing is still rising so that needs thinking about and plan home made turkey burgers for tea.

    'Morning everyone

Dull and overcast here too, no doubt the rain will come along later. Still off with this stomach bug but feel a little better today. Not much packing left to do now and we are getting excited about moving this weekend (not the actual event but the prospect of a new 'in the country' lifestyle :D) No doubt I'll soon find out the reality of it when the weather turns cold! I've already discussed getting hot water bottles and dropped hints about electric blankets ;)

Have a lovely old style day!

  • Hi all,
Got a day off today. Have already been to doctors for the dreaded smear, so can cross that off my list of things to do, also got it over and done with so can enjoy the rest of the day, grotty weather though it is!
I am meeting a friend in Birmingham for lunch, and its very O/S as she is treating me, (for my birthday, which was back in May) can't believe it has been that long since I saw her, so will have a good catch up and look at some photos!
Im going to go and get changed into something a bit smarter and get going, 'cos I want to go to the bank first and if I have a spare 10 mins before meeting I can pop to a shop (or 3) but have a good excuse, I can pick up some Xmas pressies.
Tomorrow Im going Aldi shopping, DD's have dancing lessons and swimming, (they are having their photos taken at dancing so I need to do hair in buns and sort out tutus etc for them to wear for that)
Sunday we are going to church for a special musical service, then out to lunch with MIL,FIL,SIL,BIL, neice + nephew for MIL's birthday. So quite a hectic (but nice) weekend planned.
    Must dash!
