    Morning everyone!

Well this week isn't going as planned!

Yesterday we had a bit of a car crash - well more the truth, another car crashed into us! So spent yesterday afternoon up at A&E (no broken bones but one sore body!). Most annoying thing is i was the only one in the car that has any ill-effects. The received wisdom currently is to move about to stop you getting stiff. Fair enough, i'll follow docs advice but it doesn't half hurt!! Biggest problem is practical, I'm OH's carer and so we're in a bit of a pickle. Kids have been very well behaved this morning and i've rung the childminder up to see if she'll have them today although she doesn't work fridays. So there off in a few minutes for an afternoon to see their favourite person. They can't belive their luck that they can go again to see her. I'm sure they'd move in with her if they got a chance! :D

My bramble & elderberry picking has gone on hold for a while which i'm a bit peeved at. Hope they'll still be OK when i'm up to picking them again. Now there's just the problem of all those windfall apples. A friend gave me 10 (yes ten!) carrier bags of windfalls at the beginning on the week. I have got through 4 bags but still LOADS left. Have managed to give away 2 bags this morning but i'm just not up to sitting and peeling them all and i hate to see waste!! Pity you MSE'rs don't live nearby...
  • :p Hello, :hello:
Zziggi I hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Well I have a few things planned for today but Im not going to divulge what they are because when I do that I never get round to actually doing them!
At least the kids have some lovely weather before they have to go back to school, youngest is outside playing, they were called for quite early by their friends in the street (as the holidays are drawing to an end they are going out to play earlier so as not to waste a minute) None of us were dressed, but DD answered the door, and she and her sister have got dressed in record time. Usually they argue and bicker about "whose turn it is to go first fior a wash" so obviously I will have to get their friends to call for them early from now on.
Right im off for a shower, and to do the beds and put away my ironing mountain.
    Have a nice day all.

    Hello everyone

I'm not having a good day at all. Work is driving me nuts, with me being accused of things I haven't done. I'm completely exhausted after working 15 hours yesterday - at no overtime paid I must add.

Just getting me down. Wish I could move to a new area and start a fresh.

Poor Scuzz! I hope things pick up for you! Sometimes moving away seems really appealing, I know. Anything you wanna talk/moan about? It helps me feel better! See below....

I'm having a horrid day too. Nothing particular has gone wrong, just feeling really miserable with work and stuff. Sorry to moan - but it makes me feel better to type it out! This morning i just burst into tears at my desk at work! Felt better after though.

At least it's Friday, and reading the MSE forum always cheers me up. Even when i'm feeling sorry for myself. Thanks guys!

Have a great day all xxx

Hugs to everyone who needs them and it's nice to see some good news on here too.

I'm a very happy moggins here this morning as my daughter went round to her ex-boyfriends last night and brought some of the contents of my kitchen back. I now have my blender, the jug for my cappuccino machine, my steamer and my old scales back. DH did buy me a new set of scales but I can't see the measurements properly and can't get on with them.

Poor DH has had to get up after 2 hours sleep as the viewer is coming soon, I'm going to pack him off back to bed as soon as they are gone and may take the kids blackberrying again as it's such lovely weather.

I've just done that "deodorising" thing that they did on How Clean is Your House for the past 2 weeks:

I sprinkled/threw bicarb onto the mattress, rubbed it in a bit, left it for a couple of hours then hoovered it off. Not sure whether it has worked, but OH seems to be impressed.

I did 3 loads of laundry today(with laundry gloop) and decided to save the laundry water to water the veg patch. Not as easy as it sounds though as the washing machine empties out into a very low pipe,so I spent a little while making a fountain with big tins, one over the drain cover with a spout, one just under it also with a spout and an old washing up bowl for that one to empty into.I managed to catch about 12 gallons of water so shall have at least 3 days garden water from that lot.
I whizzed around with my magic hoe first thing and noticed the french beans have finally got flowers on YAY!
Then I came in and cut up my holey rubber gloves into finger stalls, some tubes to keep finger plasters on(they always come off when im gardening) and lots of rubber bands.
I gave DS some money to go and get his hair cut before college starts next wednesday. It was £5! why cant womens haircuts be that cheap?
We're going to have quiche for tea(pronounced QWITCHEE by my DS a few years back,so that's what its called in our house :D)

Forgot to say (I'm really pleased, so I'm telling you all!) that my dad went to see the consultant yesterday and my dad's going to get a new hip! Wooooohoooo! Apparently the NHS waiting list is 6 months long, with 4 to 5 months recuperation. That's a bit of a problem as he wouldn't be able to walk me - his only daughter - up the aisle next summer for my wedding, nor would he be able to help with harvest (and being a farmer that's a bit of a problem). So, he might be going private. Not very Moneysaving, but he wants to be fit enough to walk me to church AND drive a tractor. Honestly! Boys and their toys

Vicky, so glad to hear your dad's good news! That;s fantastic! :D

As usal I haven't got much OS to report. I'm at work as usual (though I don't buy ready made lunches if that counts? ;) ) and I have to admit that Mr Thrift and I might even have a takeaway for dinner, even though it's not budgeted for!

I know, very naughty, but it's to celebrate today being my last day at my old job and I start my new one on Monday. I've been here for 8 years so it's a wee bit scary, but was time for a change. :D

I totally know that feeling scuzz. :(

But you CAN get out of that workplace and start fresh, and without going through the hassle of moving house either. I was feeling very bogged down at my work and had problems with one person in particular that was making things awful. And I thought I'd never "escape" unless I went the full way and we actually moved somewhere else.....but I start a new job on Monday! It took me a long time to realise that I could do something else though (and it's different to my current - for 10 more minutes! - job) so please don't let yuself be trapped for as long as I was. :)

    Hi All!

Well, Phase One of the move has now been completed - Ive now left Bath and am in Wiltshire till monday morning, where I start work in Bristol and move in to the flat on Friday - So I have to find four nights of temporary accommodation now! Fortunately, the cat and the boyf will stay here till we move in, so I least I only have to worry about me! Both Boyf and Cat survived the long day of moving, I think the boyf was more stressed and the cat took it in her stride and is now padding around the house smelling everything and settling in fine.

One good thing about here is that I have a bit of internet access (yey!) and lots of laundry facilities - so a months worth of washing is currently being done. Sleeping here is a bot strange though, its very quiet, and I nearly fell out of bed as im not used to sleeping in beds without barriers on the sides (I have a double loft bed - hence barriers!).

Anyway, I cant think of anything else to say really, except im still sneezing at the amount of dust that collected in the old house, and am looking forward to a week today where I get the flat and all will be great!

    Hope you are all well!

    Jo xx
