Morning all (just)
Today's jobs:
Already done quick 20 minute whip round.
One load of washing done (1 tablet + vinegar)
Ebay parcels wrapped.
Still to do
Post parcels and join the local library.
I have decided to walk to the post office  and join a library for the first time since leaving school (which was only 5 years ago obviously)
Dinner to make. Shepherds pie from scratch. Wish me luck.

Someone call the doctor - I've nearly finished my jobs for the day  Bathroom, bedrooms and stairs are all hoovered and clean! I've even put clean towels in the bathroom for the second time this week!!! I've also cleaned my brass on the front door and washed the majority of last nights dishes ( 1 glass and the frying pan left. Glass is soaking as OH had a tall tumbler of milk and left it by the sink overnight without rinsing it out first  I've told him, if he wants a glass of milk use a whiskey tumbler as they're easier to clean! )
I'm just treating myself to a cup of "English Breakfast" tea and some dried mixed fruit while reading here then I'll attack the pan of chicken stock  I think I might make the cornflake cakes as well before I give DD her sandwich at lunchtime. Maybe I'll try to find the motivation to make a spiced-prune cake as well...
Right off to play a couple of online games and then at 12 I'll go tackle that stock :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I'm at work, got loads of things to do but somehow found myself one here!Anna :beer:0

No OS planned for today as at work all day then out to the Edinburgh meet this evening - I'm quite excited. Although you do hear stories about nutters people meet through the internet...................... Taking my golf umbrella as protection :rotfl:
will report back tomorrow.
:wave:r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Well the kitchen is done, I'm just rewarding myself with 5 minutes on here then I will go and hoover the kitchen, bathroom and toilet before getting down on my hands and knees and swabbing the floor
Wonder if multi surface wipes would tackle the floor, then I could use my swiffer jobbie and save my poor arthritic kneesOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi everyone,
Well my 2 DD's have gone of to their nan + grandads house for the day, their nan collected them at 10.50 (it was supposed to be 10.30) but stopped for a chat so they finally left 20 mins ago. Thought I would pop on here before I make a start. Im going to tidy myself up and go to doctors (appointment at 12.20) then a quick lunch when I come home and then lots of housework whilst the house is quiet. Tea tonight is something new (for us) chicken kebabs with rice.
Yesterday I went shopping to Aldi, Im amazed how much I am saving by shopping there, and the quality of the stuff I buy is great! My usual shopping budget (which I havent adjusted) is £80 per week for 2 adults and 2 children. Yesterday I spent £65, I bought a posh bunch of flowers and some doughnuts and a big chocolate cake for treats too! Both of my freezers are absolutely stuffed full too. Just by starting a price book, shopping at Aldi and not buying ready meals, (I figured if I dont buy them then I have to cook from scratch or starve) so if I tried really hard I could shave lots more off it.
The excess cash has got absorbed by other things over the school holidays, but from now on Im saving it as its OH's 40th Birthday on Xmas Day this year, so want to get him something really nice.
Im off to the doctors so enjoy the rest of the day everyone!0 -

Just wanted to say well done and thanks to VickyA too.
My mum has terminal Leukaemia and was waiting for a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately no-one matches her rare tissue type and it's now too late for her to benefit from one. Having someone you love go through something like this really makes you aware of donors of all sorts. I was always registered as an organ donor anyway, but have now registered as a blood and a bone marrow donor too. Blood donation only takes a few minutes but it literally saves lives. We lost count of the number of blood transfusions mum had last year - it was in the hundreds.
I couldnt even begin to imagine the number of people we owe such a huge debt of thanks to for helping my mum survive for a year (and counting) longer than she would have otherwise. If blood donation isnt something you already do - think about giving it a go.
Thanks again Vicky - I know how much it means to a family somewhere that you went for your test today.I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
afternoon all
Having a VERY lazy day here today.. didn't get up till one  and have been on the puter more or less since (and I'm still in my jammies_ ... disgustingly lazy, but hey ho... I'm feeling less knackered for it.
I've managed to do a laundry and hang it up (inside as it's threatening rain) and sweep and wash the kitchen floor so I suppose that's a start... I've a list of things I really OUGHT to be doing a mile long, I may yet get them done (one of them is cleaning the sitting room, which I fully intend to do during eastenders tonight) and if not I'll do them tommorrow instead... I've no food that needs using today so I'm not going to get distressed.
I made myself a lovely, urm, breakfast juice today using the carrots from my organic box (I'm not a fan of cooked carrot, but I LOVe carrot juice and raw carrots) and some organic apples. It was really really tasty and while it wasn't the cheapest juice I could have, it was very healthy, fresh and a fraction of the cost of the same juice (without the organic element) from the local juice bar. It's not something I do often as the juicer attachment's a faff to clean but I REALLY enjoyed it today.
(((hugs))) to everyone today - VickyA you're doing such a lovely thing (and brave with the needles!) - well done!Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Finally managed to get off my backside! Altho never made it to playgroup and i'm still not dressed i have managed to sort through little un's toys. Clean the kitchen and living room. Make some buns and a ginger cake (in the breadmaker) and also put some bread on too.
Done well on my spending too, £6.80. including the postage for my ebay items, potatoes for dinner and an ice cream treat. Not bad i guess0
