afternoon all - just a really quick post as I'm quite busy at work today...
Had some of the beef in beer I made last week for lunch today (with couscous) and very nice it was too...
tonight I've a friend coming over to share a takeaway (not very Ms or OS I know, but it's cheaper than going out and it's a treat!)and once he's away (after Lost!) I'll be making some soup with the chicken stock I got out the freezer this morning... I know it's a bit of an odd thing to do at 11 at night but I find cooking helps me wind down and it'll be quick and easy and really nice for supper when I get in from work late tommorrow
Hope everyone has a good rest-of-wednesday, and I'm really glad to catch up with everyone even though I've not really got time to go through and post individual replies. Take care!Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Hi all
I've finished work for the day! Gosh, I'd forgotten how much vinegar and beetroot smells. Ah well, it's only for 8 days and I'm grateful for the money. The other people that I'm working with are all young students from Eastern Europe and they were asking me why I didn't have a job (ie why I wasn't working in an office or such like). I was highly embarassed, but trying to keep up the "I'm just waiting for my supply agency to find me some work" act wasn't working and was wearing a bit thin. There are loads of people still at the factory from when I left there 3.5 years ago  (can't believe it's that long ago!), so plenty of gossip to catch up on!
We're having left over moussaka for supper tonight as we didn't quite finish it all. It was very yummy though, so I'm looking forward to having it again. That'll have to slip into my repertoire.
Anyway, my clothes and hair now smell of malt vinegar, so I'd better go and have a shower.
CQ - I'm so pleased to hear about the HA. Oh, and the car with the dent in it. It always makes me smile, that sort of thing!

Curry Queen
I can see why you laughed!
I had to giggle this morning when DD put on a shirt and looked really confused when it would not button up at the collar.
It was one he had taken to Hong Kong and they had hot washed it and shrunk it.
Could not help but point out "Well even I have never done that!"
Quiet chortle as my washing and ironing never seems to be quite good enough! :j"This site is addictive!"

Hi All,
After a very stressful day at work, I'm glad to be putting my feet up! Have managed to get my DS (2 yrs old) to bed as he was getting v.tired, and did my OS task for the day. In the post from LaRedoute I got a code for £5 off my next order, free p & p and a free multi cooker (like a slow cooker) so I ordered my DS a body warmer for £6, and will be getting all of the above for £1:j .
DS needed a new body warmer, and I've wanted a slow cooker for ages. Hope you all had a good day as well. Now off to defrost my freezer...A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Glad you had a good a reasonably good day at the factory Vicky :T
I know who to blame for my sudden beetroot fetish late last night now
I must have read your post about working there at some point during the day, and when I loaded the washing machine last night ready to switch on for E7 and poured vinegar in the softener compartment, the smell hit me and I suddenly fancied some pickled beetroot :rotfl:
Luckily I found an unopened jar in the cupboard and proceeded to eat almost half of it"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

will come back to you three times as strong!

Hey, CQ - don't say you and me aren't twins, but triplets, now MATH's joining in
Beetroot - took it upon myself to do an online shop last night and ordered some!
MATH - yup - I still call 'Star Burst' 'Opal Fruit'!! And Snickers are still Marathon's too
However, as I have been looking at old family photos this week, I can say that I never did the purple or lop sided hair thing, but I did have a Kevin Keegan curly perm and there's a pic of me looking scarily like Jill Gascoyne in Cats Eyes (remember that?) Oooh, spray on lycra trousers and bat wing blouse thingies - hey, bring back the 80's(OK, don't - they were bad, but not as bad as the 70's tho'

Morning All :hello:
Had a very bad night last night. So am up very early this morning.
Have another appointment for an assessment this morning at 10 and think im abit worried about it. Dont know whyThere always nice-just depressing to go through all my ailments.
Dont faint, but.....the Bread maker is on as we speak  Thought id give it another go. You've all brainwashed me :wall: Just hoping it will turn out ok or I will blame you lot...lol.
OH emptied dishwasher last night-got it on earlier than normalso thats empty waiting for the days gunk. Have 2 washloads to do (1 lot of towels), 20 min blitz and toilet cleaned.
Cleaner is back for the 2nd week tomorrow and have cut some of her jobs down, so that maybe she can do the other jobs more thoroughly. OH is going to go through it all with her and will show her how he does it as she seems to be making her job harder the way shes doing some of the jobs. I know everyone has there own ways. She has a thing about everything smelling nice-which is great but would rather have the house cleaned properly than smelling sweet
Lunch today is jacket spud, ham, colesalw & beetroot. Dinner Pie, Mash & beans.
Hope everyone has a nice day.

I'm up early too couldnt sleep so came trawling for ideas for meals for today.
Sorry to hear you had a bad night Penny.
I couldnt have a cleaner I would feel the need to tidy for her coming I'm weird like that.
I've not got many plans for today flat needs a quick tidy round and need to phone my electric provider to reduce my monthly direct debit. Apart from that lurking round here and reading probably as exciting as it will get.
Have a nice day everyone
