  • Sorry Nicki, didn't mean to make such assumptions and was just going by your post :o but it sounds as though you're doing all the right things. You say her behaviour has worsened recently and I wonder if it's anything to do with starting a new class this term? Kids, especially at that age, find change stressful and can act up because they don't know how to tell anyone how they're feeling.

Mine are long past that stage now thankfully, but I had a lot of behavioural problems with my eldest when he was that age, but looking back now I can see it was a reaction to a lot of change and upheaval in our lives at the time (leaving his violent father and moving house etc) as well as coping with normal stuff like starting school, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with it even if you know what's causing it sometimes

I think it's great that you can sit down with your partner and talk it over and hopefully work it all out, and I hope things improve for you all very soon :)

Just a thought, and I don't know if you've already considered this, but if you're struggling to cope then maybe try posting to the marriage/relationship/family board for some advice? I only look in there from time to time now, but I have posted before with a problem, and they're a great bunch on there to help through any problems you're having, so may be worth having a look :)

    NAUGHTY KIDS STUFF

Is it just me that thinks kids should be sent for a time out in the chokey? a la roald dahl's matilda!
  • Sorry this is very OT even for this thread, but I just had to come and tell somebody as I'm roaring with laughter right now and it's very naughty of me :o:confused: :rotfl:

My landlord is currently building more flats right behind me, although I won't go into the distress all that's causing me right now, but I've just spotted one of his labourers driving out into the street in one of those mini-digger things on caterpillar wheels, only he could barely control it and has swung the bucket right into someones parked car!!! ... but it get's even better, cos the car he hit belongs to someone I had a major fall-out with about 18mths ago and I'm almost crying with laughter :j :rotfl:

Ok, I know I'm bad and evil for laughing, but if you knew the history you'd understand ;)

(you reckon anyone will notice if I take a quick piccy on my digital camera :D )

Do please take a piccie, we could all do with a good laugh.

I wasn't quick enough with the camera I'm afraid as there's quite a few people now looking at the damage  This is one of those places where you can't sneeze without drawing attention so something like this does not go unnoticed!

I'm still giggling though a) because of who's car was hit and b) because my landlord will have to stump up and pay for the damage :D

I'm not such an evil person usually, honest! <need an innocent smiley to insert here> ;)

Whilst I was there OH went to Boots and took some skin products I purchased a few months back but had an allergic reaction to them. Didnt have a receipt so they gave him a giftcard with £41.50 loaded onto it.....thanks very much Boots :D I can use this like cash in any Boots store on anything I want. Will probably wait for the january sales and use it then ;) Also sold some taps that I had forgotten about on ebay yesterday and they sold within an hour for £80 Buy It NOw + £10 postage  started them at 99p with no reserve...still in shock. Also...more nice news....OH is abit of a computer wizz and he's helping a friend, coz we are on Income Support we said we cant take cash, so he has offered to make us 3 hand made radiator covers (he's a chippie) :T Cant wait....not like me to have good luck :p

  • Well done on getting to the therapy session PP :T

I often wish I'd stuck with it but I "ran out" on them nearly 2 years ago when the going got tough. I was given 6 mths to return but unfortunately let it lapse so if I wanted to do that again I'd be looking at waiting around 2 yrs for it now

Looking back I was pretty stupid as what they were offering was the one of the best services in the country for someone like me, and better even than what the Maudsley were offering, and all on the NHS too <sigh> but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes

Hope you start to see the benefit from it soon though :)

  • Afternoon all.

Not much old styling going on today, I have been to work and I am just going over to my friend's for tea (not even money saving as she lives 25 miles away and I will have to drive!).

Have invited parents + grandparents for lunch on Saturday. Am planning HM soup and HM bread, and HM cake to follow. They had better be impressed!!!

OS is obviously so successful with me today - need to go and buy some more vinegar as we've run out - oops.

Sorted through several drawers of things today - old job applications for summer jobs and loads of other rubbish - plenty of shredding and paper for recycling now.

Had a really lazy morning but going to try hard and get everything for our potential car boot together this evening and see if we've got enough stuff etc.

Trying to use up stuff in our freezer before we move so it's fish fingers and waffles/chips and baked beans for dinner tonight - doing pretty well at getting through stuff so I'm pleased.

Also need to get some more washing done as the dirty basket is overflowing - partly because we keep finding clothes during our sort out.

Anyway better head off to tescos for vinegar and to use the recycling bins - 2 bags of clothes, and a box full of glass bottles and jars.

    Hi PP,

Well done on selling your bathroom bits and on getting all that credit back from boots. Just wondering what your OH said when he took them in - did he just say they gave you an allergic reaction - it's just I thought boots didn't do refunds on cosmetics - or were the things he took back still sealed? Just got a couple of still sealed boots things I'll never use and wondered if I should try and take them back.

Thanks - hope you've had a good rest.
