Wheat bags.....Can also be made using plain rice.Much cheaper than wheat.
greenlogo...how about making a pomander(with cloves and a ribbon to hang it up)?
We went out this afternoon to the library to get some books on psychology which is DD's new interest and then hunted around for a new rucksack for DS as he couldnt squeeze all his college gear into his old one and actually left his lunch behind today rather than get the mickey taken out of him for carrying it in a carrier bag.I nearly fainted at the price(£20) but it was a good well made bag with loads of room.
I bought 2 thermometers for the PVC Greenhouses Im putting up so I can see how hot they get and when.Luckily our local pound store had some.
Tea today was Chicken bolognaise.
Our neighbour gave us yet another lot of windfalls,so I gave her a jar of our Blackberry jam.I do feel a bit guilty to keep taking her windfalls as she seems to always be giving and will hardly ever let us do things for her(she is 96) her daughter says it is because she likes her independance. She seemed quite pleased to get some Jam though
No need for the breadmaker tonight as I freeze the remaining slices when we have all had our lunch sandwiches and people can just take out what they want for toast,so there is rather a lot of bread in the freezer at present.0 -

Came home in real pain and went upstairs to have a look ready to phone the doctors or OH to come home and take me the hospital! (I have this real fear because of some medicine I am on, and the fact that I am 5stone at least overweight that I'm going to get a blood clot) I roll my trouser leg up to find a huge yellow/white spot with a huge red area around it!
I PMSL at this bit - sorry
Mrs MATH has had a very serious DVT a few years ago and we recently thought she had another (false alarm) so I know the worry but to roll up ya leg and find it's just a spot:rotfl:
Nice to know there are other CSI fans out there. Who's best Horatio or Grisham?Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Grissom definitely, sorry Horatio, I do like you but Gil's the man for me.
Can't get into CSI New York in the same way for some reason?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hmmmm... Grisom  :shhh:
Just had salad with Tuna Mayo and cheese for tea with the option of melon for afters. Very full now. Will need to go to Asda tomorrow though for more cucumber and lettuce (it's gone brown  ) and fruit. I suppose I had better buy some bread as well, but since OH is going away on Friday food consumption should be pretty low this weekend :rotfl:
Talking Credit Card options with OH so off I go to way up the pro's and consCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Well I got mine years ago at a market. They had them on a stall but you can buy them in the chemist here now so I would check them out first. They roughly sell for between $10 - $15. So that would be to you roundabout 5 pounds. The instructions come with it ie: how long to put it in the microwave. HTH.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning All
Not a good night last night. Its very windy here this morning-not sure what the weather forecast is though
Have 2 washloads to do(weather is awful here-but not raining yet-but wont hold my breath), 20 min blitz.
OH is getting on with some more of DD's bedroom. She would like white furniture in her room, so I think OH is going to paint our wardrobe and chest of drawers-rather tha pay out. They are quite new but in wood-but apparently he knows what to do
Tidied out bathroom cupboard yesterday and gave a carrier bag full of deodrants, half used bubble baths, shower gels etc to SIL (well still in car-willl be given next time we see her). Also, lurking in the back was a set of beautiful taps with shower head (modern style) which we bought about 18months ago when we did bathroom. Now we are having a walk-in shower put in-so no longer needed. Put them on ebay and was bought within an hour for £80+£10 postage...cant believe it..lol. With the money, we are probably going to buy 2 bedside drawers and a patchwork quilt for DD for her new roomMay go to TKMaxx for this.
Have got pschotherapy at 1, which im not looking forward too. We dont really have the money for me to go-especially with petrol prices, so may ask today if they can provide transport-know it sounds cheeky, but if you dont ask and all that.
Lunch today is jacket spud with left over chilli from last night. Dinner will be Egg & Chips with bread and butter.
Having another assessment tomorrow for personal care as OH is looking really tired and he's not well either and I need him to be OK. The only way I can help really is by cutting down what he has to help me with. I dont know how many hours they will offer but will take anything knowing it will cut downs DH workload. I really didnt want to do this but can only give it a try and hopefully find someone I can trust.
Anyway, I will catch up with you all later.
Have a great day.

Morning PP, and hi to everyone else. I hope you and your lovely Oh get the help you need. It must be so difficult for you both, and hard for you especially, knowing that you need his help, but that he is not well either.
Well today I'm off to the Doc's to check on my progress with the new AD's they have put me on, so far so good as far as I'm concerned.
I have one more load of washing to so and then it's shepherds pie for tea and I might have a go at a couple of recipes from a breadmaker cookbook I bought last weekend.
I also have to think of some meals my OH can make at the weekend, as I shall be working. He's not the most experienced cook ( beans on toast is about it) but he has to feed four kids so he better get better.
Oh well another day another dollar. Have a good one

Morning everyone :hello:
PP - good luck with your appt today!
FS - hope all goes well at docs and good to hear these AD's are working for you
Weather doesn't seem to know what to do here at the moment, was bright and sunny an hour ago but now there's a bit of a breeze kicking up and clouding over
I slept much better last night and shoulder isn't as painful today. Still got limited mobility in it and can't lift anything heavy or push myself up out of seat etc, but I can rest it on the desk and type properly again :j
I called the surgery yesterday and they told me to go to A&E if it hurts that much, and no they can't send a GP to see me  Makes me wonder how seriously ill I have to be to get to see my GP, and even then they'd probably tell to call an ambulance
Anyway, on a brighter note I've just found out that I've been pushed up the list with the HA and should shortly be moved to a 3-bed house, only those who are currently homeless are above me right now so obviously they come first and have a greater priority, so that's a huge weight off my shoulders. Mind you, I'm now starting to panic about getting stuff packed and organising everything, as well as wondering how the hell I'm actually going to cope with the move!!! _pale_
Haven't a clue what to make for dinner tonight yet, will rummage in the freezer shortly and see if there's something I can just heat up later. Last night we had the rest of the sausage hotpot with some big yorkie puds and apple crumble with HM ice cream for afters. DS wants me to make some mint choc chip ice cream today but I haven't any peppermint essence left so he'll be disappointed when he gets home.
Time for more :coffee: me thinks before going to tackle last night's washing up"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Morning CQ
Thats great news about the HA. We too are in a HA property and we have been very lucky. We were in a 2 bed flat-i loved it for 2 years, then my dd fell down the stairs-i asked about possible carpet being put on stairs as they were concrete, but a nice lady from the council came out and did an assessment. She said that we would be eligible for a ground floor flat-so thought great and a gardenAnyway-6 weeks later we were offered a 2 bed semi in a much nicer area with a front and back garden and cheaper rent than the flat  We were very happy and have been here for 3 years next month.
We were counted as homeless 5 years ago. We were renting privately and had problems with landlord from the start-he was into taking huge deposits then kicking people out and we stood up to him. Result was him coming round with 5 guys and smashing our goods up whilst we were there. Never behind with rent etc-he was just nasty. He was arrested and had to go to court-he got 6 months as he had a conceiled weapon and commited fraud-he was 73
Nevermind, all sorted now and we have a lovely home.
Your a lovely person a deserve a break. Hugs sweetie.

Eeeeek sounds as though you had a bit of a nightmare time  glad to hear it all worked out for you though
I'm so excited to know I'm actually going to be moving at last, and to have a garden again so I can actually walk outside for a breath of fresh air will be absolute heaven after being shut up in this flat for the last year or so! It's all the logistics of it that's terrifying me as I don't exactly have anyone to help, although I'm sure my ex will actually do the move if I talk to him nicely LOL! Not sure I could cope with strangers coming in to do it _pale_
I'm sure it will all work out ok in the end though, and it'll be worth all the stress in the long run, so just got to sit and wait for the letter telling me they've got somewhere! That's the hardest part, the waiting, and not knowing exactly when it will be ... next week? next month? ... but they're pretty confident it will be this side of Xmas <gulp> _pale_"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
