Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. Just having a couple of hours at home to freshen up and get boys stuff ready for school, in case i'm away all night again. Mr TM has taken the boys to see grandad for 1/2 hour. I'm having a much needed cuppa and 10 minutes to myself.
However, still managing to be 'normal' as that's what mum wants. I cleaned her living room and hall this morning and did 2 loads of washing before I left. We're hoping we can get a Marie Curie nurse in tonight, otherwise I shall stay till about 7am then come home to sort boys out for school. I just don't want mum being on her own, looking after dad - she can't manage to move him anyway. Also, the nurses were surprised dad made it through the night. I live 10 miles away so it's not like I'm next door if she needs me. However, the next door neighbour has taken a key today anyway.
Take care everyone, I'll catch up with you when I can

Seems like I've had quite a busy weekend. Yesterday I went to watch rugby with my SIL-to be. She was quite pleased to get out of the house and leave her little one (11 month old) with her husband for an afternoon. I'm completely rugby (union) crazy and try to follow them where ever they go. I'm hoping that I get a job or at least some temporary teaching so that I'm able to go to foreign places with them. Last season, OH and I went to Dublin to watch them play. Well worth it! Not very OS, but we save in other areas to be able to do that.
We popped to the car boot sale in our village this morning. Some friends had emptied the contents of their house - they're moving too - and had it for sale so we popped down to say hello. They had a couple of books which we took - didn't pay for them as they've done the same on many occasions!OH took a Spanish text book as he's starting Spanish classes on Tuesday through his work. They give those people who have to deal with the sister company in Spain, free Spanish lessons.
This afternoon I've done yet more ironing - no more to do for a while!OH has cleaned the windows - inside and out - and is now mowing the lawn/weeds!
I've got a friend coming to stay over tonight. She's back in England from Australia for 3 weeks, so she's visiting for 1 night here.
Take care folks, especially TM.

Hi everyone,
Im thinking about you and your family TM, and sending lots of love and best wishes your way.
I was intending to do so much today but its all gone out of the window Im afraid. Im back at work on Tuesday so Ill not have much time to laze around then.(Thats my excuse anyway)
OH is outside making a cold frame with some unwanted pallets he bought home from work. I bought Amateur Gardener this week and it has instructions inside about cold frames, I think this has inspired OH, so I must buy it more often.
I went to the library on Friday and instead of coming back with loads of novels as usual, I got an organic cookbook, two books on household organization, and a lovely book about cardmaking. Im going to have a go at a homemade card for SIL's birthday next week, to go with the Love 2 Shops vouchers I got from Pigsback, and the (recycled) box of chocs someone bought me. (SIL is into "recycling" pressies too, but the sell by date on the choccies is before Xmas so she can't give them back to me then!) I know it sounds a bit mean, but it was her sons birthday last week and I spent a fortune on some lovely pressies for him, and also his sister. We have seen them since them, but have had no acknowledgement, let alone a thankyou!- Sorry rant over.
Thought about going blackberry picking later after reading all the numerous posts about it on here, I have never (and neither has OH) been blackberry picking before in my life. I feel very deprived. Have rung my mom to pick her brains about where to go, there are lots of farms about with paths through them which might be better than the local country parks as other walkers may have beaten us to it. I think OH is keen to carry on with his cold frame now he has got the bug though.
Have been feeling very depressed about going back to work as have recently moved to another office as my original one is closing soon, (government cut backs) its over double the travelling time, and unfortunately I still have the same horrible line manager. I feel better about it now though because I have applied for some great jobs I am really keen about, also if I get too depressed I will give in my notice, whilst looking for something else. Before the school hols started I would have worried about money, but after Ol' Stylin' for the last six weeks, I know we will manage on OH's salary and not starve.
Why is it though that everyone on here reports that their home made efforts are well received, when my OH and kids still prefer Sainsburys bread and yoghurt? My bread and yoghurt is perfectly palatable so its not that. At least Ive got them off Yeo Valley yoghurt (I know its organic but it is £1.23) and onto Aldi balanced life yoghurt (59p for the same sized tub) My family are the fussiest eaters ever known. My kids STILL prefer yukky chicken nuggets to a roast chicken dinner. But I will not be beaten! I'll convert them if it kills me!0 -
Had a quiet day today. A friend of ours invited us round yesterday for lunch as she lives near the university where i had to go for a tutorial. Our friend is not known for a her excellent estimating skills. Consequently if we go round for some salmon - it's a dolphin and if we pop round for a lamb chop - it's a herd! Yesterday was lamb, gravy, pots & loads of veg. I've now cut with the pretence and we just take some tuperware containers with us to bring the remains home. She lives on her own and used to throw all the left overs out  Then i discovered O/S and asked her if she minded me taking the remains home. I do this everytime now. We've got enough food for a cooked meal today and monday as well.
Tea will be Hm bread with lamb in a sarnie. HM yogurt to finish.0 -
(((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to TM have pm'd you as have been there and "bought the t shirt" as they say! I can remember very well how painful it is. I know you will be getting a lot of support from the lovely people on here but if you ever need to talk please pm me I promise to get back to you.
Just been to Costcos and stocked up on washing powder, hair conditioner (really cheap for a hugh bottle of tresame) also bought some stewing beef and some boneless pork chops and ordered oh his birthday cake to celebrate his 1/2 century! these are really cheap at costco and yummy so not worth making my own! :j
Have just found out we can join Makros through oh's work so need to check out their prices as well, will have to look back through old posts to see if anyone has left info on Makros. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hi CQ
Re Ebay
I have never used turbo liser on Ebay I always just save my options so that all I do is title, description, photo and amend postage cost. I have a shop on Ebay ( I sell kids clothes as well as my own personal stuff) and use selling manager pro so I can schedule the start time of auctions for free. Which means you can do a listing in the morning and schedule for the evening. Don't forget when doing a title use up all the letters allowed because as previously posted on the Ebay board, Ebay is just like a search engine and the title is what brings buyers to your auctions.IMO
Sorry this is not O/S

(((TM))) - Thinking of you and yours right now.
Not been terribly organised today (infact I'm still in my jammies  ) but hey ho. I've got the chicken carcass from yesterday's dinner boiling away merrily to make stock (and it smells nummy) and once I'm finished here I'm off to make up some beef in beer ready to freeze up in batches for quick and easy yummy meals (it's nicer frozen and reheated I think anyway
). The beef cooks off best in the oven, so I'll prepare my chicken pie ready to go in with that(as per my rubber chicken thread..
) - My theory is that the kitchen will have had a chance to cool down from the baking sun blasting in there this morning (phew!) and there's nothing on the box I want to see tonight anyhow (roll on the autumn schedules!) so it should be nicer to cook round about what should really be dinner time
.
I'm on Holiday this week and my aim is to cook off all the raw products in my freezer into meal portions so when I'm back to work I've loads of easy osy meals that just need defrosting and carbs adding.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...0 -
Hi Greenlogo! Your beef in beer sounds yummy and I've just bought a pack of beef from Costco today. Please can you share the recipe? Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
