Oh count me in with this one... was shocked to realise that I'm 192lbs; and with each successive increase in dress size I've gone and bought new clothes (and kept the old ones in the hope I'll slim into them again); now I've no space for clothes and am thoroughly fed up. BUT I did manage to give up smoking last year so I know that accounts for about 15-20lbs of my weight increase! Ideally I want to lose about 7-10lb a month for 6 months (or get down to 10 stone and hopefully be a size 12/14 in the process).

My weigh in will be saturdays (as I do the shopping for the week on Saturdays). Also hoping to increase my exercise from nil to about 15 - 20 minutes each day. I'll probably start off with walking, then a mix of walk/jog until I'm fit enough to do a 5km or 10km run:eek:! Also measured my breasts, abdomen and hips and no wonder I'm feeling like a flumpy apple!!!

    Good luck everyone, Cat.x

    Hi,

I think this is a great idea. I used to go to Weight Watchers and found the weigh in to be a very motivating experience (!) but like others I just can't justify the expense at the moment. I need to lose 5-6 stone so quite a big task ahead of me!

I have quite a few low fat veggie recipes (if I can just give up mu compulsive chocolate habit I should be fine!) so if anyone wants any, or has some to pass on to me then let me know.

    Good luck everyone!
  • I think a weigh in evening would be a good idea as it means we all have a reason to stick to it.
And for all who are interested - Carrot and Ginger Soup - 0 (!!) POINTS!!

0 Points Carrot and Ginger Soup

1kg Carrots - cut into small chunks
Chicken Oxo Cube (can be veggie)
1 inch of root ginger or a tsp. lazy ginger
    heaps of freshly ground pepper

I do not have a hob so a cook mine in the microwave, but it can be done on the stove top.

Throw the carrots, stock cube and ginger in a pot and just cover with water. Nuke in the microwave for about 8 mins or until carrots are tender. Blitz in a blender until smooth. Grind in freshly ground pepper.

:T Enjoy without any guilt at all :j

Thanks for that merri.....was trying to remember the contents of the soup but couldn't!

Now wish I hadn't got rid of all my books in the last mega clear out......
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • I have a curried parsnip soup recipe too, but that does have some points...
I will dig out the recipe books later on. I am happy to weigh in any night.

Hey had a chat with the OH last night - whos a FAB cook - and persuaded him to batch cook some stuff for me to take to work. My only probem there is that it's a high-security facility so I'm limited to what I can take in. Everything has to be in clear plastic bags or containers which is a complete pest - also they sometimes say I'm not allowed soup in without any notice, which is a bit poo as then I've to go to the canteen. It's very cheap but the chips there are to die for so ends up not being ww-friendly!

  • Hmmm... what do they think is in your soup? :)

Please can I join too? I need to lose about 4 stone I think. Started WW online last year but gave up as there was no real motivation - though I did lose about a stone (put it on again now though :o). Come to think of it - not sure I ever cancelled the subscription so I may still be paying - eek! Had better go and check and do that (save me £10 a month :D). I have loads of WW recipe books and an old points book (from when my OH went to meetings) so I shouldn't need the online.
