Just a couple from me:
1) Make sure all washing is done and put away before Hols
2) Make sure House is spotless before go away.0 -
Good idea.

One thing that I've been doing ever since the Supermarket Secrets programme is buying organic milk.
My initial reaction was to have a total overhaul of my eating and shopping habits but I think that would be hard to keep up. Instead, I decided just to switch to organic milk.
I feel like I'm making an effort, it's healthier, especially for my son who drinks most of it and it doesn't cost that much more.
Hopefully, I will start making similar small steps over the next few months.0 -
I think this is a great thread. I would like to participate so here are my pledges for September 2005
a) I will register on ebay as a seller and sell some of my unwanted 'stuff'
b) I will clear out and reorganise my wardrobe - using the 6 month rule
c) I will meal plan for the next month and shop accordingly.
d) Aiming for as many cheap and nutritious HM meals as possible, so will have a big cook for the freezer day
This will help kick start me.
I wish everyone else good luck
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

Eh..........do you all have to register and sell with eBay at the same time?
I hope you're not selling the same stuff as me. :rotfl:
Just kidding!

aliasojo, you and r.mac could just bring your junk on Thursday and swap it :rolleyes:0

I could be tempted on to this to!
1.I will also find out about selling on ebay rather than collecting with great intentions.
2.I will have several car boot sales and clear the loft and garage of all baby stuff.
(My youngest is 10!! :rotfl: )
3.I will look at changing my gas and electricity suppliers!
4.I will keep on top of the ironing instead of sitting looking a MSE all day!
5.I will get rid of the cobwebs around the house!
6. etc...etc...etc...
Oh there are just too many things that I have been intending to do but since finding this site I have even less time and I never keep New Year resolutions no matter how public I make them! This is a good idea for a thread.Perhaps what my first thing to do is to sit down and write a list of to-dos then prioratise (spelling?)them!
Isnt it funny how many of us have similar to dos and good intentions:j0 -

When you register with Ebay you can buy, sell or watch items to your hearts content. I didn't sell for 2 years, did plenty of buying. A handy tip a friend gave me is, list your item on Thursday night 7.30ish & list it for 10 days (no extra cost) you then get 2 weekends for sales (weekends are the popular buying times) as the auction finishes on Sunday night. Good luck with it.Every day above ground is a good day.0 -
Great idea!
My pledges for September:
I will plan my meals rather than randomly peer into the fridge and see what there is every day.
I will not let my ironing pile up (it took me 4 hours to clear it on Sunday!).
I will finish making my Christmas card and present lists this week.
I'd probably get a lot more done if I didn't spend so much time on here actually....0 -
So, my pledges for Sepember are:
2 evening meals per week are to be meat-free
look in the fridge EVERY breakfast time to see what has to be used up that day, not a day later and bin it
never buy anything out of habit, I need to check other cheaper brands
make at least 1 new and untried recipe of soup, bread and evening meal per week
each week something must be ticked off my Christmas to-do list
errr...that will do for now I think.0 -
Thanks Nige....but my comment was meant as a light hearted dig at all my MSE friends.
I meant that if everyone else descended on eBay then that would be more competition for me, lol.
I have a horrible feeling we probably all have very similar stuff. :rotfl:
(Just as a little encouragement to clear out your stuff....I once bought an ornament for £50 and sold it for £250. Then I went back and bought another one and did it again!
You just don't know what you might be sitting on!
