Hmmm, Interesting.
I know that we were very poor as kids and remember being absolutely starving when it came to meal times. I can remember actually watching a pan of chips cooking and wishing them to hurry up.
When OH and I got our first home together it seemed a total luxury to go and get nice food and plenty of it. I think that now I shop less for me and more for the boys, I must make sure there is plenty in for my family (as there wasnt for me as a child)............
Very interesting.......off to have a think:DBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

I remember as a kid, asking my mum if we could afford things, but she would just shut me up, and I know if we ever went out to eat, which was very rare, my folks would buy me something and often just have a tea or coffee themselves.

I remember seeing a programme on stomach reduction and the surgeon said that the average stomach was the size of a clenched fist and that we shouldn't really eat anything more than this on our plates as it stretched the stomach......I'm hoping he had a smaller than average fist!!!!

The first couple of weeks, I used this bowl quite a lot and am able to use it after my cookery class as OH often isn't here when I get in, I just have a ladle full of whatever I've put in the SC.
Moving up, a medium portion is ooooooh, thinking about today, this is my food today, which I'm quite worried about, amount wise:
b: 3 rashers of lean bacon, half tin beans, 3 egg yolks (don't do whites!)
l: 2/3 of a takeaway tub size of leftover chilli with 1 jacket potato made into SW wedges with 2 x HE cheese
mid afternoon: the other half of the tin of beans with another baking potato made into SW wedges
2 mullerlights and 2 bananas
Syns - I wasn't going to have any syns as I went mad yesterday and had 30. However, I had a choccy digestive bar which was 5 and erm...about 5 small squares of homemade toffee..so too many syns again....probably where I'm going wrong I guess, but unless I eat the small portions i'm feeling bloated.
Dinner tonight is roast chicken. I'm going to have the breast meat. I'll probably have 1 breast with some butter beans because I feel I've eaten too much today and then a mullerlight and a banana, but possibly not as it will be late.
I too have the 'shove it all in' problem - usually at the beginning of the month when the shopping OH pays for arrives - trying to contort packets of mince etc so they fit in the freezer!!
I tend not to have many syns during the week, maybe a couple on a drop of gravy here and there, but not many at all. I save mine for a weekly take away. I know I probably shouldnt do it like this, but one night a week, we like to have a treat
I know that if I'm hungry I will cheat.....it's a case of finding the point at which I'm not hungry any more, but before I get to the stage of having to undo my trouser button, or put some comfy trackies on
It's so difficult :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Well I can remember my Mum crying over the lack of money, we were always aware of the seriousness of it and how poor we were, well I was at least, not sure about my brothers.
Guess thats one of the reasons why I got into debt, and tend to over eat and over shop:rolleyes:But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

I usually splurge on weigh in day - probably a bar of chocolate, or some biscuits and then maybe a take away or something a bit naughty - although the fridge/freezer and cupboards are nearly 100% SW friendly so I'm now even denied a splurge unless I make the effort to go out and buy something special!
The splurges have got a bit out of hand though this week - that's probably the real reason I haven't got a hope in hell of losing!"Stay Wonky":D

to be honest, that's about the size of portion I would call 'small' and have been eating at lunch and dinner time on nights after teaching. On other nights, I have had about 1/2 to 2/3 of a plate of food before gritting my teeth, telling myself I am starting to feel full (because I know I am) and then stopping eating.

My mum had a nervous breakdown when I was a kid, and suffered from severe depression all her adult life. I grew up living with my mum, dad and maternal grandparents. This was primarily because of finacial problems, but also to look after me, because my mum couldnt.
I think I was protected from a lot of the problems to be honest but it does make me wonder if that has possibly shaped what I have become - fat and poor :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
