warming the yohgurt does work. The first time I did the breakfast rice, it was nearly cold after adding it to the yoghurt, so I zapped it in the microwave - it tasted like muller rice - which I love, but the syns are high!

Spud - cook some pudding rice in water and drain. Add to a mullerlight (or any free yoghurt) , sweetener if you want it and chopped fruit. Free!

    OK - it wasn't bad!:D

    1. First lesson - take it out of the plastic pot first, the bit around the top started to burn and melt the plastic whilst the rest of the yogurt was still cold!

    2. I stopped and started a few times, think it worked out to 30 seconds on high with one pot of muller in a cereal bowl uncovered (well I had to keep sticking my finger in to check the temperature didn't I:o?)

    3. Be prepared for it not looking too good when you first take it out, it will be seperated and looking pretty disgusting! Stir it well and it will come back together ok.

    4. Pour over sliced banana and eat. It was quite nice and felt more like a pudding as opposed to a snack. I wonder what other combinations we can come up with?

    Love

    Hi.
Only just found this thread. Been lurking about the boards for a while but this is my first post.
I was doing SW for a while and doing ok. Stopped going to meetings in July last year but was doing alright on own and running, as well as using Wii Fit. Unfortunately things have slipped well out of control and could do with support (without paying to go to meetings). Things started to go later in the year. Someone close passed away suddenly early last year and my family dog was put to sleep. I'm doing a part-time MA as well as working full-time. When the work was piling up, I fell off the wagon a bit. Thought I was coping with things in bits but then felt overloaded. As a result of this I turned to comfort-eating - as I often resort to when feeling bad. Then my Christmas chunk went on too. I resolved to start a New Year health kick and made a good start, but then got hit by yet another cold - seem to always have one these days! Then the following week I was told my job was going to completely change - something well different to what I applied for, but can't complain because at least not redundant (still a shock though).
Really feeling the weight but every time I pick myself up again I get knocked down and have no energy to cook and eat healthily.
Sorry if this sounds whingy - I didn't realise how much I needed to get this out and needed support. I don't mind if people just give me a kick up the bum and tell me not to feel sorry for myself - I just want to get motivated!!

Hi pops - firstly :grouphug: :grouphug: some (dodgy) big hugs to you!! secondly welcome to the thread!!

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough ride over the last few months, but well done on still having the motivation to make some steps at achieving something positive!! I didn't have the easiest of starts to 2008, and that's what prompted me to give Swimming World a go - I figured that my weight was one thing in my life that only I was in control of, and it was one of the few things I felt down about, that I was able to do something about - and for me at least - it really worked!! I've found that it's helped me feel more positive and more energetic about everything else that's going on as well - hopefully it'll have the same effect for you too!!

You'll get all the support and motivation here that you'd get from going to a class (plus a whole load more!! ;) ) and I'm sure you'll pick up loads of tips on ways to make it easier for yourself - so that you're not tempted by the comfort food when you're in a hurry!!

Anyway - sorry for such a long ramble - and welcome again!! :D

    xx

Aw thank you! I've seen how supportive everyone is to each other on here so I knew it was the right place to come! I will keep trying - even though I seem to be starting another cold today - boo!
Right, it is on - I AM going to do this and have a great 2009. Turning 30 in a few weeks so going to make sure that is fab too!

    Breakfast rice...what that

like a warm/hot cereal in the morning and since I have switched to the EE plan on SW I only have 1 HEB to use during the day. If I have cereal in the morning thats it gone:mad:

So I came up with this - I vary it from day to day, for instance today I had blueberry and tomorrow probably rhubarb:j

Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt, rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW so can be made any time you fancy it really!

Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

oooohhhh exciting times - I love my birthday - even better that you've got a milestone coming up! ;) Should be a good wee incentive for ye too - you could easily lose a good half stone maybe by then (depending on just how many weeks it is away!!) - Good luck getting started - that's always the hardest part - once you get on track it's easier to stay there!! :D

Feel free to post your meal plans if you're looking for some inspiration - or even if you just need to feel accountable to someone (like I do! ;) )

Half a stone at least is my plan! 4 and a half weeks to go so that isn't too bad.
I think feeling accountable will def help!!
