chemically speaking, I can't see how it can be on a green day?
If I cook 4 ounces of cous cous in the microwave and on the same plate have 2 boiled eggs immediately followed by a mullerlight yoghurt, how is it different to putting them in the same bowl in the microwave? OK so there is 1/2 tsp baking powder in the cake and sweetener but I could put the sweetener a cup of black tea at the same meal!
If you google 'cous cous cake slimming world free' there are loads of sites listing it as a free green day cake - the only syns are when jam or lemon curd are added."Stay Wonky":D

Just a quickie about your mash - for potato to be a HEB on a red day, the skins have to be on (this makes mash a bit difficult, lol)I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I see your point, but head office have told us that any food not consumed as it is intended (ie making a flour substitute from couscous) is misuse of food!
The reason behind it is all too obvious when you think about it......a healthy diet would not include eating a whole cake a day  .
SW are trying to re-educate people to eat in a sensible, healthy way cutting out as much processed food as possible (which is why corned beef is synned now where it was once free).
At the end of the day, it's down to the individual whether they follow the plan exactly or whether they 'tweak' it along the way. If it works for you, carry on, if and when your weight loss slows down unacceptably, have a rethinkI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

well, a normal cake with fat etc maybe, but it only makes a really small cake to be honest, I probably won't make it again purely due to it not being quite as yummy as predicted! I did read that cous cous which has been ground up to make a flour has to be synned but 'whole' grain cous cous isn't. The recipe is 4oz which is no more than the Ainsley free packets of cous cous and if I made some of that and combined it with free veggies, a couple of eggs and baked , it would be the same thing as making the cake (and just as easy to scoff down!)
Red day today:
weetabix (HEB)
skimmed milke (1/2 HEA)
banana
2 more bananas
syn free sausages"Stay Wonky":D

They call them 'crushed potatoes' in the culinery world, bit of a poncey name for 'potatoes in their skins which are then roughly mashed'"Stay Wonky":D
